Ooh are we talking about Star Wars’ weird issues with redemption? Darth Vader did not redeem himself of a lifetime of sin, including the genocide of an entire world, with one good act he only did to save his son. It’s ridiculous they portray it as if he did.

Well, we started talking the new star wars and it kind of turned into that.

Darth Vader was terrible, I’d never dispute that… but I think the Jedi are themselves at least partially responsible for the creation of the monster. Which is why I liked the prequels and liked Lukes dialogue in The Last Jedi.

I’ve looked at Anakin’s fall more than once and came to one conclusion. He was metaphorically being drawn and quartered. There were multiple forces pulling at him from different directions.

  1. The Jedi Order. They never trusted him. Some of it Anakin brought on himself, sure. You can see some of the lack of trust from the start when Qui-Gon presented him to the Council and, I think, Anakin never forgot it. Heck, Mace Windu, right before confronting Palpatine says it to his face, that Anakin could finally earn his trust. How many of the Jedi actually trusted Anakin? I agree with Spudd when he says the Jedi played a part in his fall. Qui-Gon would have been the perfect master. Obi-wan was too hidebound unlike his master. Everyone probably knew he was the so-called Chosen One. I’m sure that didn’t help him any.

  2. Padme. The marriage and keeping it secret didn’t help matters and when the kid came along, it just made it tougher. Then there was the fact that Padme wanted Anakin to help end the war. Remember the scene with Padme and the Senators in Palpatine’s office with Anakin standing there? Yeah, I remember the looks passed between them. When the kid came along, he couldn’t help but remember his mother as the dreams came to him, portents of Padme’s death. His misinterpretation of the vision would lead him to seek a way to keep her alive.

  3. The Clone Wars. Death, destruction, loss of friends. All of these prey on a person’s mind. The cost of war is a terrible one. What happened with Ahsoka also has to be factored in.

  4. And then there is Palpatine, the puppet master. His guidance, the stories, the friendship, all of it wove a web around Anakin that eventually drove him to turn to the dark side. The trust Palpatine showed Anakin ran counter to the likes of Mace Windu as mentioned above. He became more of the fatherlike figure to Anakin than Ob-Wan.

Looking at the entire picture, it’s no wonder Anakin finally snapped, you might say.

Hey, this is Threeslotbag/Hahahaha posting for the last time. My last friend ever who was still playing WOW is cancelling their account.

Good luck with the current horrible writers not mangling your favorite races.

And may god have mercy on your souls.

All the force nerdery concerning power scale or knowledge aside - I feel like Anakin’s force powers could not have saved Amidala if she lacked the will to live after seeing what he became.

Also - I wonder if Ben impregnated Rey with the Force through their interactions. Is that plausible, if a form of Force conception may be a thing? Just something I considered.

You will be missed but damned if I don’t understand.

It is a little weird that you have completely different dates on multiple account wide achievements.

Did you also notice the glorification of what is basically a suicide in Sadfang’s story? Glorifying someone who basically threw their life away? And lets not even get into their portrayal of PTSD.

Its funny watching writers trying to walk around touchy subjects.

They were going for the whole Jesus martyr “sacrificing himself for the Horde’s sins” angle but yeah, at the end of the day it was a mentally ill man killing himself because he felt it was the only way to make things right. The Heroic Suicide is never handled well because it always comes off as “killing yourself for others is a noble aspiration” which is something too many people who get to that point in real life actually think. Have you ever seen the movie Lights Out? It was so much worse in that.

I always found it laughably ironic that people could claim that suicide is cowardly, but in the same breathe glorify people who throw their lives away and force other people to do the deed.

Is this referring to something specific I’m not recognising?

Honestly, people who criticise others for suicide have no empathy. It’s not considered out of cowardice but because you’re in so much pain you don’t see any other way to relieve it. Calling someone a coward just reaffirms what they’re about to do and the people who say it should be ashamed of themselves.

Got bored so I decided to try and make the Eternal Traveler stuff work on my hunter. Even found a new friend for him.

I really like those spiky crabs.

For the new year I’ve decided to take drawing a bit more seriously and maybe start sharing it. Right now I’m still practicing and finding my wrist, but I’m having lots of fun with my doodles! It’s pretty hard to draw backgrounds and magic and stuff like I envision, but exciting to try. Hopefully some day I can draw Hanashi and my other characters!

Good luck with that. I can’t draw for crap.

Thank you! This is a bit weird, but I was needing something to draw so I went ahead and sketched out your character. A little night elf and armor practice! She ended up looking a bit like Ysera due to the (difficult to draw!) helmet. With your permission, I can upload it online and post it in the lounge. Totally okay if not, of course!

Going to bed for now, but I’m eager to wake up and draw some more soon :herb:

Sure go for it. I could have changed my outfit if I knew. Especially since I think that’s only half a transmog and half switched out gear. The normal helmet is that black hood with the red glowing eyes.

Oh hah, I figured it might be something like that, but I kinda liked the challenge! I think you look great regardless, so I hope I was able to capture some of the awesomeness. I took a few liberties, like keeping your ponytail under the helmet, and fleshing out the gloves to be more 3D.

Anyway, here’s the art, hope you like it!

No complaints from me. It looks great. You nailed the hat if you’re wondering.

That makes me so happy to hear! Thank goodness for the Wowhead model viewer so I could see the hat from all sorts of angles. Thanks so much for being my model and letting me show off my work : )

No worries. I spent a while debating how to reply to your stroking of my ego in my original reply lol. I’m weird with praise.
