Store Mount "Problem" - In my own eyes

Errrm, I guess… wouldn’t we all want some ‘‘goodies’’ … :stuck_out_tongue:

So I spent hours and hours of time farming for mount that drop in BFA. Unfortunately I never got one to drop (there are several). As I was farming I picked up silver, gold, junk, BoEs and greens which I sold. With that gold I went to AH and bought myself some tokens and with those tokens I bought my pretty store mount as a consolation prize.

If I want a mount from a raid then it would cost me more. My guild doesn’t raid anymore, in fact very few of them play now. So I would have to pay gold to some guild for a carry to get the mount.

Seems to me I pay either way. Thanks for reading.

He actually does know his wow knowledge pretty well, disagree about his opinion all you like, it doesn’t make it wrong. A cashshop on top of your subscription is just plain gouging.

So, a few counterpoints, OP:

  1. “Unique” and “eye catching” are 100% in the eye of the beholder. I happen to think the crab is pretty eye-catching.

  2. Dropping Asmonwhateverhisnameiswhocares’ name doesn’t strenthen your argument. I, for one, have not nor will ever watch one of his videos; and the only thing I know about him is his face on the thumbnails that keep popping up in my YT recommendations which is, without a doubt, the most punchable face I have ever seen.

  3. If you wrote your wall of text on a brick and threw it at my face, it would be easier to read.

Asmond knows how to market himself, make money off both the “spergs,” those who throw tantrums about what he says.

Asmond has ya’ll wrapped around his skinny fingers.

I would agree, if anything it carried gave you some advantage. It does not, so I do not.

BTW, “gouging” refers to the practice of selling necessities at a steep markup; usually referencing people selling thing like bottled water in a disaster area for $20 a bottle. Attributing it to anything sold in the WoW store is hyperbolic far past the point of absurdity.

No way, was I being hyperbolic? Say it isn’t so! I’m tottally utter baffled that I NEVER noticed this. Thank you for pointing this extremely super easy to understand fact out.

I didn’t say you were being hyperbolic, I said you were being absurdly hyperbolic. Coming back and trying to cover saying something stupid by claiming Poe’s Law is even more absurd.

Now I see why people make fun of the WoW forums. I used to buy store mounts before I realised how bad microtransactions are for the quality of a game. You guys supporting them are going to be on the wrong side of history.

My problem with this post and people who regurgitate what Asmondgold says.

  1. He literally makes money playing WOW. He has no room to talk.
  2. I’m sure he gets free codes(to giveaway), beta, blizzcon invites etc.

But he somehow has a problem with mounts being sold in a store?

Its you’re typical spew crap, and your followers will rush to the forums and spew his nonsense, no one who plays this game chars what Asmongold thinks, much like they don’t care what click bait “why wow is failing” Youtuber’s and their dead channels think.

Like I said, he bought mounts from the store, he gets free stuff from Blizzard, he has no room or position to talk on what Blizzard does, or how people spend their money.

You know what is a waste of money? Donating to streamers.

I totally understand your point, I’m not saying remove store mounts like others are, I’m saying they need to have a balance, they don’t, the current mount is just a re-skinned ray of an already added ray they have. But the store mount, that looks amazing. What I’m saying is they need to make BOTH look amazing, not one or the other.

How does him making money off of WoW mean he can’t criticize it?

That’s fine, but you don’t need to make fun of me for something I stated earlier Post#139 “Also, my enter key isn’t broken, I’m just not great at starting new paragraphs or sectioning them off, I’m sorry.

He can criticize it all he wants, but people put him on a pedestal of “this guy is right” and Blizzard is wrong.

He’s a hypocrite, he owns said mounts, he gets codes, and various other gifts from Blizzard to profit from

If he had such a morale compass, he would stop playing WOW and fight the system he despises.

But he doesn’t.

He makes a youtube video, his followers run to forums and post his rhetoric they take as gospel while he collects money.

again, he’s a hypocrite.

I really hope when you say

that you’re not saying I’m one of the followers running to the forums to post for him. Because, I’m not.

I don’t think agreeing with him is putting him on a pedestal. I don’t know about him owning them or not (can you back that up?). If he bought them then yes he is a hypocrite.

It’s okay to still play the game and complain about it. He doesn’t need to stop playing and fight the system, that would go against what he wants. People complain about these things without abandoning the game because they hope it gets better, not shut down.

This mount is literally Free if you have a 6 month reoccurring subscription set up.

If you’re willing to pay for gametime 6 months at a time, (and at a discount vs six one-month subscriptions), you get this mount included for free.

But it won’t be free later on, like the flying boat, It WAS free with a 6 month sub but later was put onto the store separately for the 25$

How is that literally free? You either buy it with a 6 month sub or for $40? That is like saying I got this banana for free I just had to spend $40 on apples. If you go into a store because it has a sale to buys things you otherwise wouldn’t then you haven’t saved anything.

You need a subscription to play the game, right? So, if you’re willing to pay in 6 month chunks, they are offering this mount for no additional cost aka free.

It’s pretty simple.
