Thing is, I agree with you primarily.
But this goes both ways. Retail players who are completely disliking BfA need to stop trying to change Classic and stop seeing it as their opportunity to create their own personal game.
Both games need to be left as is, simple as that.
Edit: This was in response to the OP btw.

Blizzard shouldn’t copy classic into retail, but there are things that can be learned from it.
I think it’s short sighted and close minded to say otherwise.
Is retail an action RPG, or is it an MMO. Because Blizzard seems to think its the former.

You’re just mad because the class and spec you want to play in classic is garbage.

you rolled the biggest “i won at the character selection screen” class outside of mages in classic and you’re calling out other people for wanting to have fun? lol

the classic people don’t wanna hear it but retail is the superior game. and my main game and it will be until it shuts down. i have fun questing (actually… grinding) on classic but it’s not the game for a casual such as myself.

Classic does a few things better than retail. Gameplay feels rewarding in most areas. Open world feels dangerous and enjoyable compared to retail. Raid / dungeons more mechanically driven in retail whereas classic simply pummels people to death.
World PVP is better in classic. BGs aren’t out yet… so i can’t comment yet
Classic technically has less things to do… but they feel more rewarding.
Flying is a subjective point of view. I personally thinks the game is better without it.

Well yeah… I never made it a secret.
Weird…Your title doesn’t match the body of your statement. If you try hard(it’s a stretch) your intent of this thread doesn’t make sense. Why would anyone try to make Retail into Classic?
I’m sorry, i like multi tagging, rotations that consist of more than 2 buttons, and raids that actually have mechanics.

If that’s what you think then you have zero experience in vanilla WOW.
At the end of the day, these forums and the very small minority of players on it are irrelevant.
Blizzard is a company whose goal is to make profits.
On one hand, they have a game that has been slowly dying to the point that they stopped giving subscriber numbers.
On the other hand they have a 15 years old game that has been breaking records and brought back millions of players that stopped having fun in WOW a long, long time ago.
Of course Classic success is going to influence Retail. I expect the next Xpac to be drastically different from what WOW is today and for the better.
Sure, the same 10 or so GD forum users are going to get mad, but it doesn’t matter because the game will once again feel good and alive and more importantly for Blizzard, make tons of money.

Walking Simulator 2.0:rofl:
People will wise up about Classic once the content patches run dry.
I get it that people want a challenging, more rewarding game to play. I really do.
But classic was full of horrible design choices, and those are what made the game harder.
I will not excuse bad game design just to grasp onto the one good thing about it.
I really hope the only take away Blizzard gets from this is that people like a challenging, rewarding experience. That’s the right thing to take away.
Not all that other bad nonsense.

No, you have our game held random behind a bunch of junk systems and MTX and we had to jump ship to the oldest most broken version of the game that has ever existed
I’ll drop classic in a heart beat if they can make retail good again.

Read through some more of the threads on here, you’ll change this statement rather quick. All classic has done is reinforced the vocal minority to shout a little bit louder. If you attempt to average out the IQ of those people, the number likely wouldn’t go over one hand.

are you also enjoying the store?
why are all players from RP realms so detached from the rest of the playing population?
It often frightens me

I’ve played on PVP servers, Normal and RP. I’ve seen this crap play out for the last 15 years in this game on all of them and it’s the players who scream the loudest that will never change their point of view. The threads on this forum display that constantly. Even on the older forum it was exactly like this. If you want to pretend that people like that will somehow grow as individuals when facts actually reach their narrow minds, you go right ahead. I’ll sit back and keep watching them pull this nonsense and laugh about it.
I’m not Team Classic or Team Retail, I’m Team WOW.
People who are complaining about those who want to change retail need to relax. Retail will always have the cherished quality of life changes. Once stuff like transmog, queue systems and flying are introduced to the game, there’s no turning back.
With that said, I would like to see a few things changed in retail, like a more challenging, threatening world, removal of Titanforging and the like, removal of “AP” grinding systems and the reintroduction of tier sets.
