if the base ui doesn’t make it easy for you to look at enemy castbars in the arena, install gladius or sarena or whatever TMW/WA stuff you want to homemake. if you get cycloned at a really inopportune time and you would very much like to no longer be cloned, look at 3 things before you trinket it:
is the druid casting another clone already? if the enemy druid chains a cyclone gcd into another clone cast without any hesitation, the odds are tiny that that one isn’t on you as well. you can add more information to this view by paying attention to your teammates’ proximity to the druid(if they’re not possible targets of clone, it can ONLY be on you) and their clone dr diminishing returns, just to start.
is what you very much want to be doing, damage? high winds is an extremely high pick rate talent for at least some druid spec+comp combos right now. if you trinket clone, you will need a dispel to avoid 6 seconds of a 30% damage tax on whatever you do right after it. does your team really have a window so good that it’s worth spending secret technique/combust/explosive shot/any other liquid resources/cooldowns while you’re down 30% damage?
do you have a stop for the reclone? if the answer to the second point was yes, you really do need to trinket, then look at your actionbar and then at your game. don’t trinket unless you or someone you’re coordinating with on your team can stop the cast of the next clone
i’m not here to pretend cloning arena1 twice in a row is a huge brain play, cuz it’s the easiest thing in the world to just press the same button a second time after getting the original cyclone. keep trinketing into half clone if you prefer to commit to stopping 0 clones and just want the full 6 seconds of value
Yeah neither of those will happen. Have you seen the tweaks happening Tuesday? They missed the marks on hunters, dks, dhs, priests and warlocks and even rogues. Blizzard doesn’t know how to balance and they randomly hit things without testing since the beginning of time. They surely don’t listen to the gripes of players. they don’t even use PTR to test numbers. This tweak happening to us, doesn’t even affect rogues who don’t use secret tech like me. And thief’s bargain is going back to how it was before 10.1, and I’ll still use it
sadly owkin adept is still a mustpick because it give owlkin proc 2 stacks instead of one so you can insta use 2 starfires to go into eclpise
its not just for cyclone
and honestly we dont even have any other pvp talents that give us any value outside maybe disarm and thorns but both of these can be removed
Yeah let me monitor enemy CDs, teammate CDs, my CDs, my hp, resource, and the freaking proximity of the enemy druid and my partners so that I know that inc clone casts isn’t meant for me.
Might as well monitor my portfolio and change my baby’s diaper while I’m at it.
maybe when you finish middle school your standards for college will rise
you should be doing all of these things all of the time anyway, that’s what all good players are doing. if you don’t want to improve, wait for inflation to collect your mogs
Maybe don’t downplay an actual issue with a convoluted solution.
I’ve had my mogs tyvm.
You missed the point.
The point is that it’s already unfun needing to do all of that managing just to play at a decent pvp level, even at low rating now due to deflation, and then you go on to say “yeAh, aLSo mAke SurE yoU knOW the DistanCE BeTWeEn youRSeLf, yOuR maTes AND ThE EnEMy DruId”
Like get real and stop acting like clone spam isn’t busted in the current meta.
Not trying to fan the flames here, but I’d say clone spam accounts for half my 3s losses right now.
Murphy is absolutely right that good players are hyper aware, but I think there’s a trade-off to consider when you compare how taxing it is at lower MMRs versus how easy it is to use. ‘Just play better’ isn’t wrong, it’s just not always going to be the most useful advice when you consider how enormous the skill ceiling in this game is.
