Blizzard is designing the game around padding metrics now. Their goal is to keep people engaged so they can sell tokens and store crap.
The quick content releases are there to cause FOMO with players, to keep them coming back so they don’t unsub. The problem with this content, it is mostly low effort slop that has a ton of bugs.
not having new stuff to do is ruining the game. I’m already to the point of just logging in on raid nights and that’s it. there’s really not enough content to do. and 11.0.7 isn’t even going to be worth doing if they keep it a no fly zone.
What’s growing old is how fast it is to outgear the content to the point it is boring and worthless, and the fact that they still try to fight flying.
I’ve leveled 16 out of my 37 characters to 80, 20 are at level 70 and I just started a new Protection Warrior Dracthyr because that’s the dragon like character I’ve waited 40 years to play since the tabletop game Dragon Lance introduced that race of dragons.
This was a push month for me and the trading post. Nothing for me to purchase as everything is too expensive and I need to save for mounts, pets and toys. I did like that they gave us a chance to get an extra 500 tender and I actually Player verse Player to earn it, something I wouldn’t do otherwise.
I’m a bit put off about the ring situation… I don’t want to have to do anymore side quests to get to an item that I have a chore list for…
I’m not going to lie… I want to do the main quest (hopefully really well written) once on my main and when I hit max level…no more honey do, just me doing what I want.
Glad I am not the only one who feels this way. It’s too much. I like leveling alts, taking breaks, just having relaxing rest periods between seasons. I am already dreading the whole Plunderstorm grind again. The new isle? I’m already planning to ignore it totally as I did Forbidden Reach.
It’s just too much. And it isn’t good content, it’s spoonfeeding stuff just to keep our mouth full, but it tastes bad. I rather wait for something delicious and enjoyable.
8 dungeons, 1 raid with 7-8 single bosses +1 council fight, mid-season mini-grind, end-season catch-up island.
Rinse and repeat for four seasons. Then rinse and repeat for the next expansion launch.
People are comfortable with predictability and changing this would turn their world’s upside down and possibly “force” them to change how they approach the game. That’s something to oppose.
Take your time, OP. No one forces us to rush to content as soon as it releases. Just because others do it, does not mean you should.
There are rushers who only care about the last 1% of the game and rush or skip the other 99%. There are those that take their time and enjoy every minute of the game, no matter how long it takes. There are those that focus on 1-2 characters, so they can at least see and do everything at least once. But there are also those that feel the need to rush level dozens and dozens of characters to max level, and never experience more than 5% of the entire game.
Everyone is different. So the devs have a schedule and release content so those that are faster will always have stuff to do, and that means more stuff waiting for those that are slower when they do get to it.
These trilogy expansions are tiny, lasting 14 months or so, with only 2 major patches in each. Or at least it seems that way. So we need as much content as they are willing to give us.
Enjoy what we get and appreciate we still get it. Whether its 2 more years or 20 more, I’m happy with as much as they want to dish out. Eventually, we can get to experience as much of it or as little of it as we choose to.
