Stop removing portals

yeah. Thanks for the response.
So Jade forest is it?
Thank god I have mages on both sides and two WoW accounts.

If you want to make the world feel bigger, give people incentive to travel to the beautiful areas that are currently abandoned via special events, rewards or special activities. Make them alive like our current 120 zones are. Taking away portals is just annoying and makes the game feel clunky. I’m more likely to avoid those places than to take the time to fly there while going afk until I land.

You’re thinking logically.

The official responses I’ve seen, so far, aren’t logical.

Again, could totally see them removing flying. Keeping in the mounts but grounding them. “It’s for the long-term health of the game”

Professions, transmog hunters, class questlines, allied race questlines, etc. what a can of worms have they opened.

Unprofessional, uncalibrated and foolish thinking. Who green lit this haha?

Devs forgot that the world they created was to be explored ,all of it.Flying help players become immersed in their creation maybe not be with others but it is immersion nonetheless.

They do that they may as well start shutdown the game

With my limited knowledge of programing I am fairly certain this would be easy to restore and could probably be done in a matter of hours if not less. By either restoring the old portals or just creating new ones. Also having the Pandaira portal go to the honeydew village is idiotic.

Current WoW devs are insulted that more people do non BFA content than BFA.:joy::rofl:

It is. Which is one reason I scream about the pathfinder thing. I aint running it ever. But I know what Im missing in expansions I dont have it in. I know that running point A to point B isnt letting me see the world and explore like THEY seem to think it is. (it aint…at all).
Removing more of my travel options just means I wont travel there at all and I will see even less.
And eventually I’ll get tired of the games being played and just quit WoW entirely.
If I were to guesstimate, Id say I was about 30% towards ‘quit’ before they started talking portal removal and I saw that even my lower level characters cant see the MoP portals. Now Im well past the 50% quit mark.

I think one more bogus suspension to try to shut me up when we’re talking like this…or one more crap change and Im pretty much going to be past the quitting point.
And once I do quit, I aint one of those personality sorts that comes back later and gives something another chance. Ask the ex wife.

I can’t wait to fly to Tol Barad and Darkmoon Faire. It should take hours. Such alive! So bigger!

I agree. I actually wish Blizz would spend more time on making the game more vertical. I’d love for them to give us a REASON to fly, rather than fighting with us about having it at all. They spent so much time designing hundreds of flying mounts, just to have us not use them. I think that would be a fantastic change.

I haven’t heard many good things about it since it has launched, but one of Anthem’s biggest selling points was the vertical aspect of the game. There was a reason to explore high and low. Again, idk how it’s actually doing now, but I remember it being a huge draw for people during trailers and such.

Seeing that in the next expansion or something would really be cool.

I agree based on what I see.
Ogrimmar is packed at the AH.
MoP constantly has droves of players in halfhill and farming all over. Almost to an annoying level. Even Legion content has more players running around from what I see when Im in Dalaran or broken isles, especially up around thunder totem. Its always busy.
Classic dungeons are like a 5 minute wait for DPS and BfA is always at least 30 minutes for me. Pretty sure thats an indicator that players are leveling characters in old content when they could be in BfA.

So now that they are trying to force people to Orgrimmar/Stormwind are they going to tone down the aggressive sharding? I hope so or else it will make WotLK Lagaran a smooth gaming experience in comparison.

yeah. They separate the stupid professions by expansion, a change I like, then theyre going to make it more irritating to get to those expansions to level them up.
Its like the left hand reached over and ripped the right out of its socket.

Forcing all of us into Org and SW… I guess they want all of us to have to deal with the constant racism, hate, conspiracy theories and general garbage that constantly goes on in those cities’ chats. Thanks, Blizz, I hate it.

Ive logged into two accounts and been standing side by side in Orgrimmar at the troll AH and couldnt see the other character. Literally had to group up before I could see them both in both monitors. If thats what sharding is doing, it sucks, quite frankly.

I’m sorry that your family member had to suffer with something so serious and life changing. I truly hope him and your family are now doing well after such a horrible event.
I have been seriously contemplating about my choice to return to WoW. With things like a family, a job, or a disability like your family member affecting how we have to play the game it makes me think that maybe this might not be the right fit for someone like me or maybe you and your family member. Even though BfA, for me, has taken WoW in the total opposite direction than where it should be going design-wise, it still has the core of the game and the world I spent so so many hours of my life enjoying. However I am questioning if I have the time to play it the way I would like to. I think many people like me that grew up a gamer, from Atari to NES and all the way to the super changed gaming machines we have today, want to feel a sense of progress when we play a game. And there in lies the problem…most games being released now have no sense of progress, ie fortnite or apex just to give examples, or the ones that do have progression require huge amounts of time for little gain. And like with this change to portals, they are trying to get us to sink unnecessary time to be able to say that “time played” is up even though subs are down. I’ve been playing Anthem lately and though it has many flaws to work out I’m having fun but it’s just another grindy game. If I wasn’t such a true gamer I would commit the ultimate gamer sin and go mobile like most people in my life situation have done but I can’t ever get into them however now I understand their appeal to a certain group of society.
Taking away time savers is not great for people like us, but what really leaves a bad taste is the way they announced it like they were adding something to make the game more convenient when actually they are taking convenience away.

I think Bornakk accidentally hit on a solution. Giving players teleport abilities. Does it really need to be a Mage only thing after all these years? Even mages have complained in this thread so they also need more teleport abilities than are found in their arsenal. The world, the sandbox is so big now that old, outmoded means of travel are like walking to China from New York.
Perhaps a customizable teleport stone with extra options based on locations you have been to (dungeon entrances linked to summoning stones).
Just a thought.
Details fleshed out by Blizzard.
