The bottom line for me is that this is just one more thing to make me unhappy with a game that I dearly love and have been fairly loyal to for about 14 years. I feel like Blizzard could care less. I have logged in a few times for less than an hour over the past month. Logged in today just to check out this portal thing.
I’m a super casual player that has stayed because I felt like they appreciated my business. Flying upon max level. New races with purchased expansions. Being able to purchase a good many extras buying tokens. All have contributed to keeping me enjoying this game. About all I’ve done for awhile now is become more disillusioned.
This portal thing is just becoming a bigger bad deal to me, the more I consider the depth of it. Sorry if I went a bit off topic because of it.
How is it so hard for you guys to understand such simply thing like “options”, why can’t we have portals and if you or anyone feel like role play and wish to take the long way to get somewhere just do it by yourself and not removing the convenience for everyone else? Why force your role play opinion on the entire player base? Why is it so hard to understand? Same apply with flying on every expansion. If people don’t want to fly and just use ground mount to go somewhere then just do that. Why forcing the entire player base on the ground for a year into an expansion? For what?
The current meaning 120’s going there as part of a BFA content. Ironforge is like Thunder Bluff. Do you have a reason to go there on your 120 other the fun a nostalgia?
O hey we are making a portal room in 8.1.5 to put all the portals in a nice convenient centralized location as a nice quality of life increase for players.
normally i’m ok with decisions to streamline things but there is not reason not to leave the old portals in as well. give people a central location to clean up portals everywhere in capital cities but leave the nice convenient hubs like dalaran and such alone.
The Shattrath port to CoT required Keepers of Time. As far as anyone can tell, that one is staying. The other portals to CoT didn’t require rep to use, and they’re being yanked because reasons.
Ironforge is a city yes? Thunder Bluff is a City yes? Why are they not on par with Stormwind /Orgrimmar or are they like little cities and Stormwind / Orgrimmar major super cities? But should they not also get a portal room?
YES, ALL of this! They’re big cities! No one should tell us which of these portals are important TO US! They’re obviously important to a lot of us here.
Considering Blizzard constantly touts that line as reasons for undesired changes, you’d think they’d consider that excluding places from Portal access would Break Immersion and/or Discourage people from going there.
Let’s be fair… Exodar is just a crashed space ship turned into a shelter. Not exactly a city, especially when you think about what the Draenei had on Argus before they jumped ship (no pun intended).
Silvermoon pretends to be a real city. Can’t even fly there!
