Stop Punishing Players Who Have Dual Roles

Wildly unpopular opinion incoming in 3… 2… 1: Good. It’s colossally stupid that you can complete 4 world quests and be guaranteed a heroic raid i-level piece of gear. If you want specific i-level gear, do the appropriate difficulty content to obtain it.

Now if we could only get rid of titanforging. Keep warforging, but titanforging just needs to go.

It would be good if azerite armor wasn’t so hard to obtain reliably outside of the raids. Make M+ drop it, ie +10 drops 400 ilvl, +15 drops 415 from end of dungeon chest and we are good…

But since M+ doesn’t drop any azerite armor at all, this isn’t good.

This thing I agree on. Titanforging needs to go.

Arise chicken - chicken arise.

Right because its not like those 385 pieces that will drop won’t have a second ring of traits making them better then your season 1 azerite gear. Mythic base azerite at the start of season 2 will be better then your 385s because of the second ring.

And how is new 400 ilvl piece everyone expected to be awarded from WQ emissaries worse than new 385 piece?

Residuum acquisition rewards from M+ will be increasing. M+4 will apparently be granting the same residuum as completing a +10 currently grants.

That solves nothing, you only get one random piece per 3 weeks at best and you need 6-9 pieces for single spec to be efficient. That translates into 18-27 weeks (5-7 months). If RNG gods isn’t on your side and you will have to buy specific piece, good luck grinding till next expansion. This is unacceptable long time to get single spec ready.

Eh. Was simply commenting that at least “something” had been done.
Doesn’t mean the numbers are right, doesn’t mean it’s a great system. Was just letting you know that they had at least made some changes to it.

My guess is they don’t give it because they don’t get it.

They are making moves, but it’s just not enough. This systems gotta go. Have the azerite monster come and take back all his azerite from azerite-opia please.

But really, what is this? The legendary system wasn’t perfect, neither was the artifact system… but both of those systems blow this azerite stuff out of the water.

can’t have talent trees…too boring…want to make leveling up feel stronger, meaningful.

can’t keep adding talents, too hard to balance…

numbers too big… gotta squish.

here - go farm 400,000 azerite on this island and we’ll reward you with 40k of it and call it a week.

Sorry if I sound ridiculous but that’s pretty much what these decisions have been, right? ridiculous? Maybe i’m old but this certainly doesn’t come close to the stuff that used to hype me up.

Which is why they may read this as hating…but I’ve been here - I know they are capable of so much more.

Time to stop reaching for the moon with all these new “systems”. Let me level 5 or 10 levels, gain one or two abilities that make my class more class-like, and flesh out the story…flesh out the dungeons. make intriguing factions.

Make world quests in the hundreds so you can just shuffle and they won’t get old.

Idk… I graduated in psych… I can’t make games. I just feel like you guys could probably come up with way better ideas in like a 5 minute smoke sesh.

Where is the hunger?

Honestly…Ya’ll need to give Metzen a ring, go on the roof, and just spitball some ideas. And please realize just cause we play wow and diablo doesn’t mean we want the same experience in each game.

I liked in Legion how I could switch specs and not have to juggle gear or downgrade except with my weapon. Now my bags are clogged with Balance gear, healing gear, feral and tank. I like to play all roles, so I feel like the new BFA azerite system just was a step back.

I know it’s necro’d but this has been the worst part of BFA for me. Not only that, but I’ll end up having to swap traits to be optimal in PVE or PVP depending on what’s to do for the evening…

It just sucks all the fun out of the game. It’s like I never get to spend gold on anything but rerolls and it’s one of the main reasons I’m unsubbing till classic comes out and then I can put this garbage xpac behind me.

I currently have to wait at least a few days before swapping back to my main spec on my character simply because I’ve already spent my gold rerolling several times to do some M+ and then I wanted to PVP later. Well @#$% me for wanting to play all aspects of the game right?

Love how everyone is going on about “oh just have different sets and be sub-optimal”… yeah real fun getting melted in PVP because you didn’t have enough money to roll out of stupid Gemhide pieces… Having to play more defensively because you don’t have gold is just lame

What do you mean?
Vanilla -1 spec
Tbc -1 spec
Wotlk -Dual spec, still have to farm tier sets
Cataclysm -Dual spec, still have to farm tier sets
MoP -Introduced new system, but still have to farm sets for different specs
WoD - ???

??

Used to be in Legion? 1 expansion ago?

in Vanilla they had a better talents system and you could hybridize, not really relevant

Yeah it is, people in this thread are complaining about having to farm different azerite pieces for different sets, so it’s very relevant to my comment.

You wanna play offspecs? Farm the OS azerite pieces, that’s only thing you gotta do, that and trinkets and weapons, rest is all usable by all specs.

What people do is scrap 400 pieces to buy that one 415 piece, and then cry they got no azerite for OS. Maybe gear all specs to 400 first?

Vanilla was so different from current WoW that it’s not relevant at all. Part of it is how fast and how much nerfs and changes happen to current WoW’s azerite pieces.

Some of us don’t like having sub optimal traits for different specs. The shoulders I have on my Warrior are ideal for both arms and prot. Why would I want either of those specs to suffer? Well I don’t and I reroll them constantly because all the other shoulders I got were trash.

Not a fan of having sub optimal traits at all when I have the ideal ones in my bag. If they capped the gold of rerolling at 5k it would be a lot better.

Not just vanilla, following expansions as well. When did stat homogenization come, in Legion?

Well that’s what you had every expansion, if you wanted offspec sets you had to wait until everyone in raid got their spec’s set items, and only then did you get pieces for your OS. Now you can get azerite pieces from many sources, getting all 3 specs to 400 is rather quick, and then you move on to 415 pieces. (This is 8.1, adjust ilvl for 8.2)

In Legion your tier sets would work for your off spec, so this isn’t correct. We’ve never had an Azerite system before where your tier sets are actually gold sinks, unless it was during expansions I didn’t play (wrath-wod). Vanilla you would have to pay to re-talent but the talent system was a lot more in depth and fun to work with.

It’s not fun having to go with a 400 ilvl crap Azerite piece with random crappy third and fourth ring traits on it.

Yeah in Legion, her comment was that it’s been like forever, like they changed from what game used to be, no they changed from Legion used to be.

Oh, well you realize you replied to someone who commented on this many months ago right? LOL
