Stop Punishing Players Who Have Dual Roles

To be honest Cyouskin was trying to be quite civil for a long time. It was the other posters who started to attack them directly which probably pushed them to say things they probably shouldn’t have.

You have to remember we are all human. MVPs are no different from the rest of us players.
Each of us would probably bite back eventually given the right provoking.

Feel free to report them if you feel their conduct was unjust, but just be sure you aren’t treating them differently because they are green, and ensure that you report others for equally reportable conduct.

You do realise that Cyouskin is just as associated with the Blizzard system as you and me as a player, right?
They have no more affiliation to Blizzard/Activision than anyone else who buys/plays their games.
They merely contribute highly on the forums and are generally well regarded.

Additionally, why time lock per spec? Why not let players, run raids and mythic+ per spec? With the thought that each spec is unique style gear for each spec and swap out. At least that is how I understand the reply to be. (Not that I agree with that answer.) You could even incentivize players, if they achieve victory raids and dungeon with all three specs? There are a lot of ways to stop using a a mono spec system, that has morphed to allow all access to all specs.

I’m sorry the azerite system for my Druid seems like we took 3 steps backwards. I don’t have time to keep up with sets for multiple specs. Tier sets that changed were 200% better.

Not only the azerite armor sets but trying to make somthing gel with your HOA neck makes it even more, backwards.

I really hate the place gearing is at right now.

Then again for the life of me I don’t know why blizzard feels the need to recreate the wheel every expansion with gear, talents, systems. Systems that worked in the past should have stayed.

Blood

Haste/vers set of gear ( cape,bracers,gloves,legs,boots,rings,trinkets)
3 pieces of Azerite gear (helm, chest, shoulders) for survivability
3 pieces of Azerite gear (helm, chest, shoulders) for Tank DPS easier keys
3 pieces of Azerite gear (helm, chest, shoulders) for PvP Utility

Frost

Crit Mastery set of gear ( cape, bracers, gloves, legs, boots, rings, trinkets)
3 pieces of Azerite gear (helm, chest, shoulders) for raiding
3 pieces of Azerite gear (helm, chest, shoulders) for M+

thank god there is some overlap on the PvP sets but its pretty insane really

I have extra 42 pieces of gear in my bags (57 pieces total including equipped), which nearly all of them are used on a frequent basis depending on spec and encounter.

I have 14 pieces of Azerite gear total among that, which I use for different specs. As a rogue, I utilize all three of my specs regularly and even with all this gear, I still have to reforge quite frequently.

You could say that I should just settle with 3 for each spec, but some traits are practically worthless on some encounters, and that same trait could be OP in another. Additionally, sometimes the piece that has Archive of the titans ALSO has my best in slot trait outside uldir. So I often have to reforge when I do M+ or when I do Uldir for some specs.

Wait, Can’t you have two sets of gear? I thought that solution was made long, LONG ago. Like a few expansions ago. Its why we have Equipment Manager

That’s mostly for swapping trinkets and weapons, not whole set of gear.

Equipment manager is a tool for managing gear. That is not the issue. Having to aquire and maintain/upgrade] multiple sets is.

Frost or fire gear anyone? Their just getting us ready for classic that’s all.

Equipment Manager can do it all no matter how many pieces of gear. Just don’t count on decent mog sets.

you use equipment manager for whole sets not just trinkets, and it swaps your transmog to… if you even know how to use it.

swapping the gear isn’t the issue its the amount of your carrying that is. Every expansion they say “were trying to solve bag space issues”.

but then add another item that just sits in your bag forever.

why aren’t the flight whistle a toy? (atleast my heartsthone is now)

why aren’t all the hearthstones (garrison, dalaran) toys?

why arent battle pets items that aren’t sellable in the currencies tab that are account bound? (will show up in the currencies tab for every character you make)

every single account bound item that cannot be sold on the AH should not take up a bag slot it should be in the currencies tab.

why am i using aren’t so much?

It’s not even the bag issue - it’s the fact that they’re charging players when switching roles.

Like in the military - imagine if a corpsman that had to take arms to fight was docked on his pay in order to use the same efficient weaponry that the infantry uses.

Really? This guy is willing to do what it takes to fight the enemy - and you’re going to dock his pay to make it happen?

Why is the concept of multiple gear set is so hard to get… Hell, not so far ago, you had to get more then a set to do 1 Job. A set with high Hit for boss, a set with better stats for thrash dungeon, a set for pvp… You are always penalize when you try to do everything with 1 set…

It’s not multiple gear sets that’s the issue. Even if the traits swapped when you changed specs - you’d still have multiple gear sets. Which isn’t a big deal - the equip manager is a huge help here.

It’s the fact that you’re charged for traits in different specs. It was a great feature in Legion with the tier bonuses and has now gone in a different direction.

I guess what they could’ve done, is made it so the selections were spec specific. Just like with talent points in wrath with dual spec.

In one spec we choose one set of azerite traits on a piece, then switch specs and select a new set of azerite traits, and so on and so forth. That way we pick up a piece and select how we want that piece to function for each spec, similar to how tier worked previously. We’ll still want multiple armor sets as certain traits will still be BiS for each spec, but this would make it a little bit nicer for those using multiple roles. Not sure how bad it’d be on their end to make such a change though.

I think there should still be a charge to fully respec a azerite piece though.

It’s funny, you took one of the few things WoD did right - gear that changed stats depending on your spec deliberately so you didn’t have to farm multiple sets - and regressed it.

Not really surprised though, BFA is basically a big giant regression of just about everything.

I’ve discovered that a lot of people thought THIS was how the azerite traits would work. The disappointment once BfA hit was pretty widespread when you couple it with all the other issues the azerite gear system has had.

And yes - there SHOULD be a charge to fully respec a piece. I see value there - but punishing players for taking on other roles in order to complete content is mind boggling.

I wonder if it wouldn’t be possible though at this point. I think they had a similar issue with the coding behind the relics and the artifact weapons in legion. Which was one of the reasons the RNG NLC came about.

Coding issues being the road block would be pretty sad to see from a company like Blizzard.

The 8.2 changes with adding the 5th ring really goes even further into the root issue.

It appears to be a philosophical perspective of the game vs. a logistical issue. The contention lies with the fact that Blizzard hasn’t really explained the pro’s/con’s behind their decision/direction.

The fact that, in principal, the issue punishes players for switching roles makes the non-communication/clarification hurt that much more for the players who help out the community by playing various roles throughout a day/week.
