No I think what he’s saying is that if you have to view all changes as 100% equal, and that if some crazy change like adding sunwell before black temple or adding those NPCs from beta that gave away all the consumables and enchants for free is something that would make you quit playing then things like same faction BGs should make you quit playing too.

Please please please do something to resolve the issue with low population. Whether that be free transfers, or server mergers. Something needs to be done, and soon. Else I’ll have to take my money elsewhere.

Our server is basically dead. We were one of the only servers to go 100% horde after all of the alliance left for Bene. I’m not saying we aren’t to blame for them leaving, I’m just left with this bitter taste in my mouth after the numbers drop below 2500 active players.
My guild tried pugging Gruul last night and we called it after getting together a group 9 TOTAL. There are zero heroic dungeon groups, and even less pug groups. The server an abysmal black mess.

I play on the server Kirtonos for TBC classic and the population has been getting worse and worse for months now. It’s a PvP server that once had a fair split for ally to horde. The alliance now does not even have enough to do a single 25 man raid.
Now full guilds are transferring off the server and what was once a medium/high population server is now extremely low with more guilds transferring soon.
We should not be forced to pay more money so that we can improve the quality of our gameplay. …

I’m writing this in hopes of getting your attention to make a change that would support a more active and thriving WoW community and in tandem, also being beneficial as an additional revenue source for Blizzard.
There are countless forum posts that have appealed for no restrictions between PVE to PVP servers as the reasons for it are irrelevant.

When do you plan on doing something about all of the dead servers? Enough is enough, stop counting the transfer money and start fixing the problem. There are several servers that are ‘dead’ for one faction and a small group of players are stuck there. Blizzard, come on…offer free transfers off low pop servers or merge them together. You have intentionally created a bad play experience and do nothing about it other than charge players to fix it. It shouldn’t be put to the player base to manage the server population. Smolderweb only has few hundred players left on the server at this point.
I logged into my server this morning (Smolderweb) hoping to do some briefest stuff. Shat is completely empty as is Org. Even at peak times there are less than 200 people logged in. I have several toons and 70 and not paying $25 bucks to move to a new server as this is not a player created issue.

As we all know you merged OCE+NA realms for BGs and arena at the beginning of the TBC prepatch and caught a lot of backlash, eventually resulting in a reversion of the changes.
At the time many Australian based players believed that there would be a large arena player base and that they’d be able to live their dream of re-playing arena with 20 ping instead of 400.
It seems pretty clear that this was a mistake.
5v5 arena can only be queued on certain days and ONLY at night time…
Hey blizzard, thanks for introducing level boosts. The game now feels dead from levels 1-50 on Arugul OCE. Can you at least merge oce pvp servers so there are more people playing on one server and the game actually feels like wow. There are many reasons it isnt fun leveling in empty zones. One of them is world pvp which is the reason I started playing wow in the first place. Also remove micro transactions from tbc thanks Blizzard!

Almost all MMO’s do this. Layering is already a thing and this would fix so many more problems than it would create. Spot camped? Switch servers on the fly.
Reasons against merging all servers.
1. Community. Your community isn’t going anywhere in fact you will have an even bigger community.
2. Cohesion/immersion. HvH and layers make this argument invalid.
3. Malice. Just because your server and your niche is fine doesn’t mean everyone who plays is.

The thing is a lot of people HAVE quit. Even if I go by frequent forum posters a pretty large percentage have said they are not happy with how things have gone and they’ve walked away. They aren’t here anymore. If you look everywhere else you see the same thing.
Other players are raid logging or just have a reduced interest. Yes, Blizzard still gets their money but these players aren’t as engaged and they are far more likely to just quit when their guild disbands or whatever.
I’ve always said I’m here to play with friends and that’s the #1 reason why I’m still playing. So I will play as long as they do. I also do like the core of the game. Things like HvH which I’ve been vocally against I just continue to not personally engage in but I’m not going to yell at another horde, for example, in-game just for playing BGs. There’s no point and they aren’t doing anything wrong.
I might put faction balance and layers really in the same place but wouldn’t put the total mishandling of almost every server there. Now that you added all those post quotes this seems to be what you’re getting at, almost to say that people should be happy to give money to this company to transfer because they “like and support changes”. I disagree.
IMO Blizzards handling of the game is a solid 2/10 and the points are only for doing things like banning cheaters and keeping the servers running. I have unsubbed 2 accounts as well for what it’s worth, with reasons (related to the server stuff). A lot of people are really unhappy with Blizzard right now even for reasons both related to Classic/TBCC and unrelated.
I’ve seen your other posts and I know what you’re getting at but I don’t agree with the premise. Especially how you seem to be saying that if people weren’t happy they would quit. MANY already have.

the thing is, blizzard used to be good. and they made this amazing game we now call vanilla/TBC classic. we want to play that as bug-free and change-free as possible. this game was so good, we’re willing to pay the currently awful company of Acti-Blizzard money to play it. well, at least that’s how it used to work. they are finding lots of ways to mess up this simple arrangement.

We want retail. Not exactly like, not mostly like, but more like retail. Because Retail gets a lot of things right and Classic should emulate the things they got right.
Anyone arguing for an “authentic” experience just wants the game to die. Period. They’d rather WoW die in stagnant “authenticity” than be enlivened by good changes.
