I don’t want to play Classic. I played the game actively since vanilla. I did that content. I don’t care to play Cataclysm again either. Just let me have the owl pet on my main account.
What advantage could possible exist for making it exclusive to Cata classic? Stop this, please! It’s anti-fun design.

Semantics pet peeve: “cosmetic items” aren’t “content,” they’re just items.
That being said… they’ve made slightly different variations of the mounts for other Classics… so why not do the same with the pets?

I have to agree that “promoting classic” in this way feels icky to me. I don’t want to dogpile I just wanted to throw in that OP isn’t a crazy person complaining for no reason. There’s a real concern here: The modern game with modern quality of life is WoW’s best foot forward, and classic is a nostalgia high for those that miss it. It’s not a viable game for those with modern requirements of their gaming experience.
There shouldn’t be classic exclusive anything, not content or cosmetics. We in the modern day with modern standards for quality of life shouldn’t be pitched at to play a decade+ old version of the game that, as of cataclysm classic, we can play on our “forever characters” in the main game.
No shade to people that love classic. You do you, and at the same time there shouldn’t be anything you get that modern wow players don’t get. Classic is not a viable mode to pitch to people that don’t have an interest in classic.

No one is disagreeing with the OP, though? I made a silly semantics portion of my post, but I think we all agree that if they do variations of the mounts for both, they can do the same with the pets! 
I guess it makes sense to have content that would’ve been added back in classic to classic servers.
Specially when it comes to the narrative.

Yeah no the issue is that they’re making exclusive content for temporary servers, and not for our main, live accounts, where 16 years of collections are compiled, so no, a recolor won’t serve.
And you’ve made several edits to a post about yourself, when we’re trying to talk about the issue to deliver feedback to the devs. Recolors? You still aren’t understanding the core issue. And yes i read what you said the first time, and understand what you wrote.
Maybe try again? The engagement is helpful to keep the thread up top, even if it means baiting a narcissist.

I also never said anything about a recolor.
I’ll refer you to the Wrath Classic mount and the BC Classic mount— both of which we got variations for Retail that look nearly identical. That is what I’m talking about. Make the Retail version of the pets the same, only with better graphics.
Edit to add the example I mean, because you can’t tell the difference between these mounts, the Retail version is just more crisp in graphics. No reason that they can’t do the same with the pets so that everyone gets the pets:

SO true. It should just all be additionally available on retail, as that is the full, live game that most of us play, and where our main collections are.
It just needs to stop.
