^ See this, right here, is the kind of tank I like to avoid. Please kick mages ahead of time so they can find an actual efficient group with a good tank.
Alright, so the solution is simple. Mages like you and tanks like me are not compatible. You should seek a tank that wants to facilitate your style of play, and I’ll run with parties that are happy to have smooth runs with LoS pulls and threat management.
What I’m saying is that those fundamentals are old. It’s a outdated textbook from the 70s. You can quote it, it doesn’t mean its up to date and accurate. Efficiency metrics have changed. You don’t have to kill one mob at a time while marking a sheep, and trap and a repentance. Are there cases where that is required? Sure. But you literally hold your groups back with this outdated expectation where you, as the tank, should have complete control of the mobs at all times and anything else = terrible dps.
Okay let’s start with the obvious…your post is ridiculously long and I didn’t read it. 2nd I spent a lot of time in dungeons and have yet to see a mage just run up and frost nova mobs on the pull. I’m sure this happens but it’s not as often as you mention. 3rd your the tank. Your secondary job in any dungeon is to correct the mistakes. You should be telling them not to do whatever it is they did. If they do it again let em die. Kicking people is always fun but I don’t like looking for more mid dungeon. Just tell the healer don’t heal the mage and let em die. He’ll eventually learn. Lastly, mages do no good frost novaing in raids. MC and BWL mobs are immune to frost nova for the most part. While this might work in the very few non elite mobs in those raids it doesn’t work in 95% of the raid mobs so their very minuscule damage from a frost nova is just a waste of mana for any mage that has the slightest clue on what they are doing.
Where did all you terrible players come from lmfao
What I don’t get is you people obviously live and breathe Tipsout and YouTube guides and min maxing, but run shatter mages at 60
My head actually hurts
Well, you see. English is a complicated language and by spent I could be referring to spending the time reading and replying to other people over the course of 125 posts
Complicated concept I know. Therefore specifying such a thing is unnecessary, since that’s not what I was referring to
Being such a living breathing language, you should have been able to infer that from the context of the sentence which obviously escaped you
MC is LFR difficulty, Mages can stay shatter because the 100 UBRS/BRD runs they’re doing over the weeks will be much quicker and it’s far better than the seconds saved on MC bosses once a week.
