Stop Frost Novaing in dungeons

Thanks for the support man

Theorycrafting isn’t fun anymore. This isn’t fun at all talking to you guys

I’m the “worst tank on whitemane” for discussing root mechanics.

Yikes. This is just reddit basically

Isn’t that the entire point of the game? Vanilla gameplay?

^ See this, right here, is the kind of tank I like to avoid. Please kick mages ahead of time so they can find an actual efficient group with a good tank.

Luckily there’s no shortage of mages so we can pick our groups :man_shrugging:

No, the point is to play with a vanilla version of the game. Not revert to a time when no one had any idea of what they were doing.

I just broke down the fundamentals of root mechanics and spent 125 posts arguing with people that don’t seem to understand this basic game mechanic

But we don’t know what we’re talking about?

I’m honestly speechless

I need to stick to the bug report forums where people actually have brains

I mean, if you find people like-minded as yourself, then group with them and do whatever you desire to get through the dungeon.

But i see no issue with people prefer a spam run with frost nova.

Potato potato.

Alright, so the solution is simple. Mages like you and tanks like me are not compatible. You should seek a tank that wants to facilitate your style of play, and I’ll run with parties that are happy to have smooth runs with LoS pulls and threat management.

What I’m saying is that those fundamentals are old. It’s a outdated textbook from the 70s. You can quote it, it doesn’t mean its up to date and accurate. Efficiency metrics have changed. You don’t have to kill one mob at a time while marking a sheep, and trap and a repentance. Are there cases where that is required? Sure. But you literally hold your groups back with this outdated expectation where you, as the tank, should have complete control of the mobs at all times and anything else = terrible dps.

That’s a good compromise.

Shatter mages will get weeded out anyways because they’re just bad in general :man_shrugging:

Nah, they’ll be picked up by the good guilds and run with other good players, like the Mages I play with.

The thread is 132 posts and counting

Or did you need help with math too? :joy:

Okay let’s start with the obvious…your post is ridiculously long and I didn’t read it. 2nd I spent a lot of time in dungeons and have yet to see a mage just run up and frost nova mobs on the pull. I’m sure this happens but it’s not as often as you mention. 3rd your the tank. Your secondary job in any dungeon is to correct the mistakes. You should be telling them not to do whatever it is they did. If they do it again let em die. Kicking people is always fun but I don’t like looking for more mid dungeon. Just tell the healer don’t heal the mage and let em die. He’ll eventually learn. Lastly, mages do no good frost novaing in raids. MC and BWL mobs are immune to frost nova for the most part. While this might work in the very few non elite mobs in those raids it doesn’t work in 95% of the raid mobs so their very minuscule damage from a frost nova is just a waste of mana for any mage that has the slightest clue on what they are doing.

I feel like you have a hard time comprehending your own words. You said you spent 125 posts arguing with people.

You didn’t say there were 125 posts in the thread.

Yeah need those big shatter crits in MC

Where did all you terrible players come from lmfao

What I don’t get is you people obviously live and breathe Tipsout and YouTube guides and min maxing, but run shatter mages at 60

My head actually hurts

Well, you see. English is a complicated language and by spent I could be referring to spending the time reading and replying to other people over the course of 125 posts

Complicated concept I know. Therefore specifying such a thing is unnecessary, since that’s not what I was referring to

Being such a living breathing language, you should have been able to infer that from the context of the sentence which obviously escaped you

Was that specific enough for you bud? :joy:

Mages don’t need to spec out of shatter for MC.

The only WoW streamers I’ve watched for more than 5 minutes in the last month are Alkaizer and Monkeynews. I don’t like Tipsout.

:man_shrugging:

I genuinely despise twitch culture, so…

But I do like fast and efficient runs. :man_shrugging:

Good guilds huh lmfao

MC is LFR difficulty, Mages can stay shatter because the 100 UBRS/BRD runs they’re doing over the weeks will be much quicker and it’s far better than the seconds saved on MC bosses once a week.

Have no idea what LFR difficulty is
