While Frost Nova is often used poorly, there’s also a degree of myopia in the OP.
On many pulls, the tank is largely superfluous because you don’t actually need anyone to tank. Classic Mass AE situations are one of those. While you’re desperately trying to taunt all those enemies, there’s a good chance that your Mage could care less if you went afk and grabbed a coffee until they’re done killing the spawn. In essence, what you view as him interfering with your job is actually you interfering with his.
Now, we’ve all seen players who make bad judgement calls or bite off more than they can chew - there’s definitely a learning curve involved - but to categorically claim that your way is the only right way is blind to the experience of many, many players who could care less if the tank is able to build threat on a small army of soon-to-be-dead enemies.
“I don’t know how to tank and can’t comprehend the shift in the meta, so I’m going to kick every mage that knows how to play the game because it makes me angry”.
I appreciate the fact that youve given up your argument and admitted you actually don’t know how to hold threat
I post from my retail character because of the double posting restrictions enforced on these forums which are obviously stupid and can easily be sidestepped
My retail character has the added benefit of making the point with my scout title that I actually played vanilla unlike pretty much everyone I’m arguing with
I’ve seen literally every tank complain about dps doing one thing or another that makes getting threat a pain. There’s like 50 on these forums alone
Just because I’m the first one calling out the king of all the annoying ways of sabotaging a tank, which also happens to double as a general PSA on how to play a mage decently, doesn’t mean this is an original topic lmfao
No thanks, if a stray mob is coming for my healer, I’mma continue to nova them so they can keep on healing and the tank can come pick his little friend up.
If the tank is doing their job and the mobs aren’t running for the heals, then it won’t be a problem.
