Anyone that’s played even a small amount of Fire knows that Living Bomb sucks right now. The damage of the ability itself isn’t the only problem though. On average Hot Streak is consumed ~24 times a minute. 4% proc rate is about 1 proc per minute and 7% takes that to about once per 35sec. Buffing Living Bomb’s damage to the moon could make it worth taking, but it’s going to be so inconsistent that getting a good Living Bomb will be all luck based. Getting 3 in a dungeon pull will be huge, then the next 2 packs will feel awful as your 4 dead talents wave hello from that 1 good pack.
Lit Fuse is automatic, and will never be held on to for real gameplay, so increasing how often it happens increases how much damage it does overall. 4% to 40% would increase Living Bomb’s damage 10 fold and that’s honestly the level of increase it needs with current numbers. Heck, cut Living Bomb’s damage in half if it means Lit Fuse is consistent and useable. But STOP increasing Living Bomb’s damage or when it finally does get it’s proc fixed it will be way too powerful.
Blizzard, you’re turning the wrong knob…
P.S. Just make Deep Impact do something else, like not split the damage.

I just made a thread about that too. How many times are they going to mess with the baseline damage of Living Bomb as if that will achieve anything? It is ridiculous at this point and just shows the people who make these changes have either never played Fire or just don’t know what to do and pull random levers to see if anything will work.

tough because they shot themselves in the foot making it proc off excess fire in frostfire too. it’s 4th in my overall damage.
at least they nerfed the gpu crushing visuals. i keep stuttering on fat pulls.

Again, I genuinely do not understand what they think these flat damage increases will achieve. I am flabbergasted… lol.

And for the millionth time, NOBODY ASKED FOR THIS lol.
“What does Fire need?”
“Well, we’re great at passive cleave, can we get an AoE ability/rotation that isn’t absolutely terrible and maybe more single target damage?”
“Heard, we’re adding more passive cleave. How does 8 more talents sound?”
It’s just so clear that they needed to “add something” to Fire this expansion but just decided to reuse an existing ability (when it was so obviously going to be a mess) rather than actually adding something new.

A lot of people want Living bomb to go away. I like the spell. Especially as frost fire. But it could be better. I’ve never liked flame strike. I wish the devs would get rid of it or change it to something similar to what arcane has. where it procs automatically at the feet of enemies that you hit with pyro blast or fireball. Also, Pyro blast needs to be buffed more. That spell is so weak

Flamestrike is such a bizarro rotation that was so obviously not designed for its current combustion iteration. It should so clearly be castable at a target to the point where it’s literally unplayable without making an @cursor macro for it (spending any moment during combust placing the reticle would completely tank your already sad damage). Literally nobody enjoys having their mouse occupied and being forced to WASD move for this stupid spell. At this point just make every single LB talent a pyro buff until you figure out how to delete the entire idea

The damage is also a problem though. Both the damage and proc rate need buffs.
Honestly I like the design of the new Living Bomb. But after playing with it at low proc rates in Beta, it does not feel good when it procs once in a blue moon. Making it consistent at low damage would be the best design imo.

The devs are definitely not listening to the community in regard to fire spec. They are once again buffing living bomb and now buffing flame strike damage in a hotfix.
But on a good note, at least frost is getting a buff to glacier spike and ray of frost. yum yum.

the new living bomb is best used with frost fire spec. It procs almost all the time.
Yes, but there’s a damage modifier on the Living Bomb attached to Frostfire that can be adjusted accordingly. Either way it’s been stated that they are adding a different effect other than Living Bomb for Excess Fire, so it won’t be a balancing problem to consider much longer.
