The fact that you think my suggestion and SoD are anywhere even near the same league casts serious doubts on whether or not you even play Era, lol.
All the best!

ret paladins
Says the guy that wants Ret changes and thinks that mana doesn’t matter in pvp.
The jokes write themselves.
Sounds like you didn’t stop reading, lol.
It sounds like you mistook me saying mana longveity isn’t really a factor in PvP for me saying that mana isn’t a factor at all. Or maybe you’re just being deliberately obtuse, who can say? I mean, you do seem to be under the impression that a small amount of mana restoration on crit will “break” them in PvP lol.
Kind of an uninformed, knee-jerk take… which leads me back to figuring you lost a fight to a ret pally once and you just can’t stand to see them have even a smidge of buff. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you’re a warrior main. You just keep on zuggin’, my friend!
I agree here, but it also would not make them viable in raids.
Changing classes is way harder than people give it credit for, and very likely to snowball into a SoD situation, however tame the original intents are.
I think blizzard should run 5 successful vanilla seasons before trying to change classes.
But it is…
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
This right here shows me that you have no ground to stand on. “You disagree with me, so you must be bad.”
Which I find funny because you don’t even understand mana when it comes to pvp.
I’m posting on my main.
Keep asking, never stop asking
Fixed it for you.
LOL NO, Mana is not a problem in PVP if you play well. If you want to learn mana efficiency then play a mage or Ele shaman.
This is so wrong that I don’t even know where to start.
Because YOU don’t know how to play Vanilla paladin properly so clearly you don’t know where to begin…
Time to take some lessons.
What? I don’t play paladin in Classic…
I feel like you jumped into the conversation mid way through and not really sure what you are even replying to.
I’m the one that DOESN’T want Ret to have more mana in pvp.
This particular suggestion’s sole intention is really just to pad out the gaps between pot cooldowns in PvE, keeping you in the fight longer. This is in no way intended to make Ret do Warrior levels of dps, just make them a bit less of a liability to bring to a raid. Same goes for other meme classes, who actually have it a bit worse off. At least when Ret ooms I can still keep SoC up and that’s doing most of my damage. A boomkin or a shadow priest, on the other hand, are just straight up dead in the water.
I don’t think meme classes need a lot here in the PvE department. Just a few small touches here and there. If class balance was desired nerfing warriors would probably be the path forward, but that’s not what I’m after here.
I understand it just fine, especially from a Ret perspective. I’ve put a bit of work in on it, after all. I can pretty confidently say that a bit of mana restoration on crit isn’t really going to change the outcomes of the engagements I’ve been a part of.
I wonder, what’s your experience in PvP playing a Ret paladins?
You can read this more as “Your arguments are such nonsense that it’s really difficult to understand where they are coming from, if not out of spite.”
Your level 85 Priest? I’m not one to really put much stock in what character people post on, I post on my old retail character after all, but using this as a defense for your game knowledge and motivations isn’t really as strong as you seemingly think it is.
You really don’t.
I’m not using it as a defense, just responding to you saying that I main a warrior.
very possible I am taking what this conversation is about wrongly, but in respect to Vanilla PVP; Paladin has no real mana issues when contrast to any other class who uses mana its easily BiS.
Paladin in Vanilla PVP mana efficiency is kinda insane. The only time I have any trouble is when my team sucks and cant be bothered to shut down the enemy forcing me to use max rank Holy light that eats mana like a fat kid chowing down some french fries and cheese burger; this is no different on any other healer who spams max rank.
When I am not healing specifically I still dont oom because my per cast spells such as Cleanse, Freedom, BoP, etc are all very cheap.
Current server, obviously Classic+ should have some of the SLIGHT adjustments to classes.
Everyone’s idea of this is different, this is how we got SOD.
Me: I have a reasonably high amount of experience with Ret Pally in PvP and I’m confident in saying that a little bit of mana restoration on crit will not break them. What is your experience with Ret in PvP?
You: Nuh uh!
Riviting stuff!
Your defense to me saying you main a warrior is to say you don’t main in Era at all? Once again, I don’t think this is the solid counter-argument you think it is…
In the interests of transparency, you are. For context, I’m making the assertion that small changes to enhance the mana longevity of Ret Paladins via mana restoration on crit would help improve their raid performance without going to extremes and upsetting the balance of Era.
Imains is disagreeing on the basis that this would make them completely overpowered in PvP.
I agree with this. The idea of Classic+ is so popular because everyone has in their mind what Classic+ should be.
Some people want just Classic with TBC talents/balance.
Some want re balanced Classic with new raids/dungeons.
Some want Classic+ with no balancing but new raids/dungeons.
There are many other ideas for “Classic+” I have seen.
SoD is Blizzards version of Classic+. Some people like it, some people don’t.
Even if they do a “Classic+” at some point outside of SoD, it is not going to check all the marks people want from it.
Yup, just ask 100 different people and you will get nearly 100 different answers of what Classic+ is.
