Stop asking for high elves

So is people whining and moaning about how much they hate the high elf talk. Stop making threads complaining about players making threads (one mega thread and not dozens scattered across the forums, as I tend to see multiple anti-helf threads and only one pro-helf thread). The more you slap up posts complaining about how much you hate it when players talk about wanting Alliance-loyal high elves, the more you keep the topic in the forefront. You have no say in what other players are allowed to want or ask for, like you have no say in whether they eventually get it or not. I have no particularly strong feelings for or against, but I’m not stamping my feet like an entitled toddler and trying to tell other people what they can or can’t like and talk about

It’s not that Void Elves aren’t “good enough” - they’re fantastic, perhaps with a lack of lore but in general I like them.

The issue is they are not what we were asking for. We thought Void Elves were going to be our loyal High Elves. A few people complained, but in general we were ok with that compromise. But when we learned they weren’t our loyal High Elves
just a group of Blood Elves studying the Void
 meh, no thanks.

Like, imagine you’re in a Italian restaurant and you want lasagna. They say they’re out of lasagnas but they’ll bring you a calzone with the same ingredients. Ok sure what the heck. Then the waiter comes and brings you a pineapple pizza. And you’re like
 what?

Sorry for the stupid example, I’m hungry right now and can’t think properly :joy:

go eat than, i suggest chili fries but its too early.

also, a funny thought.

“Smurf elves”

That’s the true irony of the situation I think. They could’ve killed the high elf debate in one quick, easy move by just having the void elves BE Vereesa’s Silver Covenant high elves to begin with. Keep the scenario as is but instead of void ethereals being drawn to their forbidden studies have them just be drawn to Alleria and the high elves (maybe even Vereesa) got caught in the middle. They still would’ve been transformed into void elves
same looks, racials, everything, but their instant loyalty to the Alliance would actually make sense other than Umbric’s stupid ‘oh we were never loyal to the Horde’ BS line.

No, I will continue.

I honestly see more anti-High Elf threads than I do pro-High Elf threads
Yall anti’s are drawing more attention to High Elves than the people who want them by making threads like this

How to farm hearts on Forums starter pack:

  • 8.2 bad, classic great
  • Muh Water Strider!
  • Give us High Elves reeeeee!
  • A surface level deep analysis of the dying game state that turns out to be completely false at every claim once you dig deeper.

We need to get thoses hears somehow my guy.

Well, if they would fix the megathreads then it would be contained.

Exactly. I would have LOVED that. I still think they can do that if devs don’t really want to make HEs as a separate allied race. Turning High Elves into Void Elves would be a fairly easy thing to implement imo.

I would rather race change all of my toons. And leveling one for heritage, of course.

And if the looks were still a sticking point a simple toggle or ‘enter void form upon entering combat’ like the worgen could’ve easily been added. Then if you just wanted to hang around Stormwind and RP your high elf there you go. Void elves are identical to blood elves (because they ARE blood elves) in full armor anyway, so I don’t see how fair skin is somehow a deal breaker or a huge sin (Horde got purple-skinned elves to go with their fair-skinned ones anyway so tit for tat). Also they could’ve made a void-corrupted leyrunner as the racial mount instead of a void chicken.

I agree, plus there are 4 variations of elves currently. If one can’t sate their hunger for elves there no amount of addition variants will help.

If the high elves become a thing then someone will want withered elves and someone else will want spider elves and then Naga, which are no longer elves technically but close enough.

to be fair people have been wanting playable naga for just as long as people have been wanting high elves.

Is this the real life?

My bad analogy for Void Elves, Blood Elves, High Elves, Nightborne, Night Elves :

Al and Harold have been regulars at the same bakery for years. In the bakery case are a plain cheesecake and a strawberry cheesecake and a dark forest chocolate cake. For years Al asks for a plain cheesecake but he gets the dark forest chocolate cake, Harold gets the strawberry cheesecake. One day when Al asks for the the plain cheesecake the bakery hands him a blueberry cheesecake. It’s delicious, but it’s not the plain cheesecake that Al prefers. Harold now gets a dark forest chocolate cake now too, but it’s topped with cherries.

A blue elf eyes is targeting you

Al still got a cake though. If the option is between a cake that isn’t his favourite kind of cake and no cake, he should be happy he did, in fact, get a cake.

My, my, my
that’s some strong selective reading you got there.

This sounds to me as if Al got something far more flavorful and delicious yet he prefers something plain and boring.

Strangely enough, it works perfectly.

A plain cheesecake has some subtle nuances in flavor that are masked by the bold blueberries and sugary syrup. This subtlety is lost on others that like flashy flavors, but those that can take the time to enjoy the mellow but distinct flavors can get an experience that is sublime.

Yes I prefer plain cheesecakes over topped.
