I mean it would be nice, but like i said, cata and MoP didnt need battlemasters in Elwyn or durotar to have most pvp communities out the front of the capital cities.
Even with BG and Arena queues from anywhere, players still used those specific spots because they provide huge conviniences for them while they are PvPing and dueling.
The way the COULD have created a GREAT PvP hub would be creating a Sanctuary zone that both factions can access and duel in, BUT also reset cooldowns at the end of every duel. That would get major traction and is the most popular setup for PvP oriented private servers.
The problem with having no battlemasters in a place that is easy to access is that you aren’t guaranteed to get into a BG by just showing up to the portal with a group.
That’s why it’s a different case than dungeons.
For dungeons, you can make the group in Dalaran then fly to the dungeon and enter.
For BGs, if they were at their respective portals, you would make the group, fly to the portal and than be stuck in a queue and unable to do the content you grouped up for until said queue comes up. It’s why having Battlemasters in the main cities is important, to deal with the extra hurdle that doesn’t exist in PvE content.
and Zappbranigan is right. Dalaran Sewers was bustling with socializing in original WotLK and every WotLK private servers. People dueling all the time there.
None of your “argument’s” make sense.
PvP situation is identical but for some unknow reason we have this double standard and special treatment for PvP’ers.
This is why I propose that all battlegrounds be started by challenging other battleground groups via a challenge board. Your group posts that they’re ready to be challenged, or offers to challenge a group that is already posted, and both sides accept.
Upon accepting, both groups go to their respective battleground entry points and the match begins.
Having a queue for battlegrounds greatly reduces the social aspect of this group activity and so I feel the challenge board is a much more engaging way to address the issue of match making.
Every conceivable poll shows that the majority of the community want RDF.
You are of the stance that instead of taking these multiple points that point towards the community wanting RDF couldn’t be correlated as so, and we must assume the opposite? That the type of people who answer these polls are not the same as the “casual” player who wouldn’t.
So you are of the opinion that there is a large silent casual majority… that wants to spend hours forming groups themselves… instead of doing the casual thing… and queueing…
You do realize that it would be the “hardcore” that wants to form their own groups… not the “casuals” right…
