As opposed to characters like Saurfang who amount to “I’m going to lead us into a fight we can’t win, but dying like chumps will be HONORABLE” ? Both halves of the Horde would send people to die, but at least Sylvanas sends you to die so she can accomplish something other than a dramatic public suicide.
You have a point in that Horde culture is kinda garbage, but that’s not necessarily because of Sylvanas or Garrosh. It’s every character in the Horde. We either sociopaths, characters who are determined to drag others into their suicide gambit, bootlickers or just plain jokes.
The only good characters the Horde had are dead and villain-batted respectively (Vol’jin and Sylvanas)
You can argue Sylvanas is a bad character, but even if that were the case she’d still be a marked improvement over most of the Horde. The only character that came out of BFA decidedly NOT torched was Nathanos, because he had one gimmick in Classic and stuck with it all through BFA: He’s dismissive toward the player in stark contrast to every other NPC.
Most of the Horde Council is different flavors of insufferable. And they just shove more in there with Calia being forced onto us. You’re sitting there watching everyone stroke their own ego over how honorable they are and how bad Sylvanas- sorry, ‘the banshee’ because we’re doing this crap now- is. And if you played BFA you know most of them aren’t much better.
Lilian Voss gets catty with the player in the Pre-Patch about ‘did you turn a blind eye to her atrocities?’ And after reading that I was like “Yes. Yes I did Lilian. AND SO DID YOU! SO DID EVERYONE HERE!” Everyone turns a blind eye to Sylvanas’ crimes until she targets their friends and we’re expected to believe they’re better? Nathanos became the most hated character in the game because he was Sylvanas’ bratty sub, and we’re surprised that people hate Baine for being the same to Anduin?
If I had any faith in Blizzard, this would all be a massive red-flag that the Horde Council’s ego is about to be yoinked out from under them.
Every character is a different flavor of awful, might as well go with the one that has fun voice acting and big step-on-me energy.
