Steaming trash on the trading post

You’re playing a game with the textbook definition of cute furry races like Vulpera, a game with gnomes with high-pitched voices talking about friendship and rainbows, a game with flying colorful creatures, numerous glittery toys, a game with a cartoon look for kids, and whatnot, but certain transmogs from an optional vendor are too much for you? Kay

On our raid team, there are 3 people who have swapped to the magical girl outfit, and one of them is a male tauren.

To each their own.

These complaints stem more from the fact that Blizzard has yet to use the Trading Post to make good on failed promised cosmetics of the past but we are steadily seeing cosmetics introduced without any hint of past cosmetics the community has asked for being brought forth. Blood elf & Night elf NPC weaponry is a good example of that.

The equally frustrating part is that all of these light hearted fantasy cosmetics are being introduced but if we start asking for more gritty dark fantasy style cosmetics or past promises, its immediately hated on which is weird because dark gritty fantasy was the inspiration for WoW in the first place. The Diablo crossover event was a missed opportunity to quell this complaint as well, all WoW players got was a red goat pet and Handiman’s super leg weapon mog & a banner that doesnt match :poop:. Dont even get me started on the Blizzcon cosmetics offered for WoW, i wanted the Diablo stuff :100:

Its all good with the “Sailor Moon” stuff, not for me, but to each their own. Understand the other MMO they are in competition with and it makes perfect sense why they would introduce the looks BUT Blizzard also keep up with the actual playerbase that has held you down since Vanilla, if your not going to introduce new gritty gear at least go back and polish up the old stuff

I would like a Sailor Moon outfit please. It will of course be used on a male Orc warrior.

Thank you.

Have you read how the OP formulated it?

He tried to insult everyone, who likes such items. Do you find that acceptable? Of course, it’s okay to ask for “Zug, zug, I wanna smash some stuff” items, but you can do that without putting others down in the process. Especially where the OP claims that this game is oh so cool, even though it has had cute “kawaii” stuff like Vulpera, glitter mounts, the general kiddy cartoon look, and the like for years.

Target demographics can change, especially over a course of 20 years. Clearly Blizzard thinks enough people who are subscribed who will like these mogs that they’re willing to let them go through the whole process of being made and put into the game.

I dont care if the OP tried to “insult” everyone, thats your perception not mine. I didnt feel insulted, should he/she have put more thought into the comment? Yeah ok, everything can be said better, I just took it as expressing frustration with an aspect of the game, not me personally. If you like the cosmetics, why are you insulted? They are there for you to mog away but your mad someone (stranger) else doesnt like it?

I’m more amused than angry about the childish behavior of the OP. You can defend that kind of behavior if you want, but then you shouldn’t be surprised if people here react accordingly to such threads. If the op had made a normal request, the general response would have been completely different.

Like i said they are in direct competition with FF14, why do you think Hrothgar monstrous race was introduced to that game? Im not mad at the light hearted stuff because i understand who they are trying to attract to the game

The race has been around since 2001 in Final Fantasy X, just so you know. Therefore, the concept is not new and certainly not an answer to the WoW races.

FF X ? :man_shrugging:t5: I wrote FF14 a MMORPG and they recently became playable. Never said they were a answer to WoW races but definitely a answer to the criticism of all the human races of that game which only distinctions were height, tails & horns :man_facepalming:t5::rofl:. WoW has never had that level of criticism leveled at them for their character design. So Hrothgar being introduced was a baby step to attract WoW players with a monstrous race, considering WoWs player inbalance between Alliance and Horde player populations, it worked lol. Myself and 15 members of a guild I belong to now play and we all play Hrothgar because of the non human aesthetic. Im not hating on FF14 or WoW but i do recognize the differences and appreciate them :v:t5:

While OP’s approach leaves something to be desired, I do agree with the premise that it would be nice to see a little more variety on the trading post.

I have talked about the concept. That it already exists even before WoW was brought to market. Enix didn’t have to reinvent the race just because they wanted to have a monster race in the game.
In FF14, the race has been available since 2019 if I’m not mistaken. What you’re talking about is the female counterpart, which unfortunately they only released very late (and in my opinion, the model doesn’t look particularly good).

who cares, trading post is just supposed to increase grind motivation and to get you to log in each month when you wouldn’t otherwise

just less manipulation if the rewards suck

I always find stuff to buy on there. I wouldn’t find the blood troll transmog or firelord horns thingy interesting at all. Given your ‘transmog’ I am doubtful your taste can be catered to.

Oh… movie. Duh. LOL I never saw it. So that explains things.
