It’s not about growing out of things, toxic will be toxic, no matter the age, the bigger the community the higher the chances of seeing the toxic portion more often, simple as that.

WoW is about the journey, not the destination, considering how quickly gear is replaces in the “next phase” and next seasons
You can have a hobby and enjoy it and not be toxic about it, that usually goes for any hobby. I’ve met some model train snobs believe it or not.
Same reason anyone does any hobby, they enjoy it, there are crap personalities and immature people in all avenues of life. Then again there are some weirdos who attribute their perceived progress in WoW as their life value. Which is hella sad, but that can occur in other hobbies as well.
