State of Alliance from the top Alliance Raiding GMs

laughs at top posters in thread

Imagine having one of your main presences being telling people all day that their problems aren’t actually happening, even though people better than you are saying that it’s happening.

No wonder this game is turning into a complete cesspit.

Man, it’s almost like there’s a quarter of the guilds on Alliance than there are on Horde.
It’s almost like people are people, and those people don’t differ between the factions at all outside the amount of people in general, and the amount of high end guilds there are.

It’s almost like this is 100% related to the issue and has nothing to do with “feeling appreciated” but rather there not being enough groups recruiting in general.

It will not help. It won’t increase the player population. You would be still outnumbered in every player mode.

I dont know if my comment will bring something new, but here i am.

I will speak for my personal experience only.

I am in the alliance because i wanted to be with my friends, before of that i was on the horde.

I grew more familiar over time with the alliance and their chill atitude of not wanting to exclusively center on endgame progression.

I am in the alliance now because i quite like to not be preassured into the endgame content. I enjoy more the interactions i have on my server over the endgame content.

Maybe, people on the Alliance players arent as endgame oriented as horde players are.

But i agree, theres is a problem in participation, and should be answered sooner rather than later. It will benefit everyone in the end

YOur last line there is where the current problem lies.

They are, the problem here is that they’re all Horde except for what remains. There are people for sure who won’t swap because they like the Alliance that much…but as is known in this day and age. You wanna raid? You go Horde.

Edit: And this isn’t to you Howard so don’t worry about it. <3
I am literally getting sick and tired of people saying “Nah there isn’t a problem. It’s all in your head.”. It’s like a doctor telling you that it’s in your head that you’re sick or in pain, except we already have the numbers verifying that it’s real. Even when getting fish slapped with truth people just brush off the slap saying “must’ve been the wind.”, but hey at least they’d make great NPC guards.

I think that. Making pve activities neutral and open to both factions is the way to make people choose alliance for their choices.

Is like the covenants but instead of four we haven 2 choices.

You want to go where everything is easier but hate the aesthetic/lore or you swallo it up and stay where you are in disadvantage but enjoy the otjer things more.

The solutions as covenants is to lift up restructions

Merging servers alone alleviates the problem for a time until we are back to where we currently are. It’s a band-aid solution not a long term fix.

Ideally Blizzards roadmap for this should be:
Server merges
xrealm guilds (we are 50% there with communities)
xrealm mythic from the start of the tier
xfaction pve

Of course easier said than done but lets not pretend this is impossible when private severs have been doing xfaction pve for over a decade Blizzard just has a lot more hurdles to jump over.

Sucks because I always liked playing Alliance but its dying out.

When I first started I was also Alliance, played a human Paladin on a friends account because my potato couldn’t run WoW. After a falling out (and him promptly deleting my lvl 60 vanilla toon WITH a 60 mount mind you) I made an Undead Warrior on my own account (got a better potato) and never looked back. This all happened because of a lore discussion btw.

I feel for people that like their faction, their preferred race, etc but this problem…man. I’m kind of glad I got out when I did, or I would be if I could just get better queues for pvp.

Back in Vanilla, I’d laugh at you and say these suggestions are idiotic. Today, I say you are right.

At this stage in the game’s life, factions are nothing more than lore and main story separations. In-game activities should be mixed so that a person can play whatever race they want and not feel like they’re setting themselves up for failure.

I’m loyal to my guild for sure, and I agree. We just lost a healer to red team yet again (horde).

ya i agrey on u alans it is bad , u come to horde i think u gonna like it ! is so cool did u try

blizzard need to buff the alliance, then get profit from the horde players transfering to the alliance side, win-win situation.

Factions were a stupid idea to begin with. Splitting an MMO playerbase like that

I think people left alliance because theyre a bunch of whiners just like the amount of whines in this thread

Honestly a huge part of the problem is this “someone else has to do it, not me though” mindset that is pervasive among Alliance.

As long as large swathes of the Alliance population are sitting around waiting for “someone else” to step up and form Mythic raid guilds, kill Mythic bosses, list rated PvP pugs, etc the participation/content imbalance will NOT get better.

Raid guilds don’t form themselves, raid mats don’t farm themselves, Mythic raid bosses don’t kill themselves, etc… people putting in work/effort makes those things happen.

The fatal flaw with this “I’ll just wait for someone else to do it” mindset is that when almost everyone else is also thinking the same exact thing then nothing happens :joy:

Very much so. While it doesn’t describe the OP, the vast majority of people who post in these threads about Alliance Mythic raiding are Alliance players who do not raid Mythic.

If everyone clutching their pearls about the state of Alliance Mythic raiding would actually join an Alliance Mythic raiding guild, Alliance manpower issues would be alleviated considerably.

Is not going to happen. You oversee the absolute fatal flaw in your point, like Brewa it always does as well:

No matter how organized/encouraged/ready you are, there aren’t enough players and newcomers to sustain the progress anymore.

It’s the fault of the developers in not caring enough for a balanced system. Your opinion would have mattered during WoD/Legion but the ship has sailed. The damage is done, the faction is irreversible damaged. It’s over and done. Thank game director Ion for this outcome and his Horde bias.

Legion was already far gone.

Perhaps but there were enough people online to justify raiding on the Alliance.

The final nail on the coffin was the recent Dwarf racial fix for the last raid. Not only cemented this the Horde bias for many people, it really showed enough players that swapping to the Alliance is a bad idea. All thanks to Ion’s team. What happened to the one more known guild who swapped over for this? Are they Horde again?

Here’s the real solution.

Give up. Blizzard doesn’t care. They’re not going to care. Just swap Horde or come to terms with being a second class citizen.

It’s what I did, it’s what my guild did, it’s what the last guild I was in did… I have one friend holding out because he gets to be #1 Alliance DK on the server, lol. All his competition quit or faction swapped.
