Just wondering what your stance on cabbages is…
Even if it was breaking a TOS what could blizzard do? This isn’t a player. RIO is a 3rd party website that never agreed to Blizzards TOS
Hell everything it gathers is right on the players profile page.
I don’t think blizzard can touch them even if they don’t like it. They have no control over what websites I visit
You don’t need to be a doctor to perform surgery either, but someone’s probably going to die if you aren’t one.
The smallest bit of research into the runs someone has done can determine whether they’re a carry or not. Once that is determined, experience in a dungeon is better than nothing.
The people simply judging based off a number alone are using the tool wrong. Not a huge surprise there, given the WoW community.
For an addon exist according to the addon rules it must also follow the terms and conditions in the ToU.
7) Add-ons must abide by World of Warcraft ToU and EULA.
All add-ons must follow the World of Warcraft Terms of Use and the World of Warcraft End User License Agreement.

The RaiderIO website is not an add on.
The website requires no add on to function.
The RaiderIO add on only relays some of the information from the website. The add on could go away, and the website with RaiderIO scores would still exist and be able to be referenced.
Its not an add on though
What do you mean? I innately have a “me versus the world” mentality at baseline for literally everything.
In the case of this game, there is definitely a line I draw in my mind’s proverbial sand of “people I want to play this game with” and “people I want to avoid playing this game with because they will drive me insane with their ineptitude.”
What you’re advocating for can’t exist unless one of two things happen:
-
Performance is invalidated via game design and is no longer relevant. You can faceroll anything to victory or solo carry a group if you’re good enough.
-
Everyone in the game is good enough to meet everyone elses’ bars.
2 is literally impossible. 1 is starting to happen, though, but the game will be too boring to stomach at that point for me. Maybe you’ll be happy, though.

It’s like you don’t even know that Blizzard doubled their leaderboards to accommodate Raider io in BFA. They have made specific, actionable changes to support players using Raider io.
You’re fighting a lost cause, dude. I guess the trolling is sorta fun?
It’s actually both, I would still have to think of a way to deal with the website. But the addon is a thing.

But the add on does nothing but relay information from the website. And that breaks no ToS.
The add on could go away, and nothing would change other than it taking a little longer to invite people.

Ask yourself how many people using that addon actually does that. The answer is more than likely “less than you hope.”

As you said, this is the WoW community. The vast majority will be using it wrong. And because I know this community far more that I should be proud of, that’s why I’m against measuring stick addons like Raider IO.
There is no way. You can’t touch it because it doesn’t have to abide by Blizzards TOS
It only takes the public information Blizzard releases. So maybe you should use your google law degree to sue blizzard too for using their own information
idk. It also makes it less likely for people who feel contempt for inexperienced players to end up in a run with those players in the first place. Can’t be toxic to someone you never interact with.
People who use io to screen aren’t going to stop wanting cleaner runs/runs with experienced players. If you put someone who doesn’t want to be in a learning run into a learning run, they’re just going to get more pissed off about being there.

And then they’ll leave and burn your key, which is a whole different issue these forums like to whine about.
Who said anything about sueing lol. It’s just an attempt to force action to remove the addon.
The website would still exist. So it would solve nothing

Raider io uses information from the publicly available API. So it’s 110% legal.

…this.
Removing the add on does not make your raiderIO score go away.
I could uninstall the add on right now. Everyone could. Know what? RaiderIO website still exists. It still shows you a score.
ROfl you people still wasting time with that carebear Worgen.
