Start a new server with no BGs, only wPvP

FALSE, as I said there would be FACTION LOCK if one faction goes more than 5% bigger. Only wPvP fanatics will be rolling here, so dont u worry about people complaining. I would assume people who roll on this server would WANT to be on the losing faction, like me.

This server would be a ghost town.

The number of people who actually enjoy World PvP is miniscule.

It’s awful, it was always awful, even in the OG beta.

Also, the moment someone couldn’t create a new character with their friends who are raving about how awesome it is, is the moment people start quitting.

Its a terrible idea.

Also, make sure its 50/50 faction balance by limiting character creation so factions remain balanced.

I’m trying to imagine this in action. How many more of one faction could there be before the other faction is locked up? Say 50. So we get 50 Horde almost immediately, maybe a couple Alliance who realize they’re going to be outnumbered and delete. Congratulations. You have a low population 100/0 realm.

Let me add this.

The faction imbalance, the lack of ‘fun’ wPvP, is a player created problem. The solution needs to be player created as well.

Why not see if you can prove it would even be a viable idea by finding the other players who claim they want a realm with no BGs? If you all roll on a very low population realm, see if you can get enough to reroll to make the factions balanced (counting only each other).

Then have at.

Presumably you don’t care about BG rep or rank, so even if there are other players on the realm who are doing BGs, none of you have to. Just fight each other for fun.

(Or admit that the PvP is only a byproduct of wanting ranking, title, gear, etc., and the problem is players who will, as a mob, seek the easiest route.)

I would love a niche server that had only wPvP and no BGs. I’d also love a server with local BGs (no xrealm). Classic PvP has still been very fun, but it’s fallen short of the “Vanilla Experience” because the tight-knit social aspect of it is missing, at least since BGs were released.

I don’t think it’s realistic, though. Classic PvP has been undone by faction imbalance, and I doubt they are going to try to engineer solutions for the sake of one (or a couple) niche server. It would also be like 84% bottom-feeding rogues trying to easymode gank all day long.

You’ll have 0 Alliance on that server, making it pointless. We already saw what happened in phase 2, we already know how this little project would end up. Horde don’t want to be challenged in pvp, so they will stack the server and once again end up with no wpvp.

Both pvp server balance and BG queues have made it very clear that this is always the result in pvp, and it’s the result in retail too with warmode being dead with only Horde doing it.
