Star Wars thoughts

Was memeable for over a decade.

Its still considerably better than the sequel trilogy

Uhmm even 6 year old me would be greatly disappointed in the new movies.

I’d just like to remind Disney that the Star Wars Holiday Special is canon.

I am leaving to see it in few mins and I know about the leaks. This going is going be a disaster. TLJ broke the fandom and Disney is struggling to repair the damage.

And the sad thing about that is, if they’d gone with the Expanded Universe insteading of veering off into poorly written fan fiction land, he would’ve had plenty of young members to cast. Jacen and Jaina Solo, Kyp Duron, Luke’s son - Ben Skywalker, the list goes on. And they would’ve had a far more compelling and better written story than the hot garbage they’re rolling with now. But nah, Disney would rather pretend 40 years worth of universe expansion just didn’t happen. “It’s hard! We have no material!”

No. You have material. You don’t have competence.

Then they would have had to of paid…royalties and they can’t have that.

Yeah.

Leia being what appeared to be a sex slave was for kids.

Their making another one? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I haven’t even bothered with the Episode 7 really, i’ve been always an Episode 1-6 guy in terms of era… well for movies and for Video games. Seriously, for all the flak the Prequels get, the video games that came from it were pretty dang awesome (for the most part at least… looks at TFU2), until the Force Awaken era (or Disney buying Lucasfilm and handing it’s license over to EA Era if you will) shows up.

Call me crazy, but I would’ve paid those royalties. Hell, I would’ve even done better. “We’re writing a script to make a movie of your book. Any chance you’d be willing to come help with the screenplay? Fantastic! What’s it going to cost? Consider it done, your plane ticket will be in the mail.”

If they had done Star Wars right? They would’ve made so much more money it isn’t funny. I saw episode 1, 2, and 3 in theaters multiple times - and they weren’t even that great. I watched TFA once and pirated Last Jedi because I wasnt gonna pay to see Luke done dirty.

Yeah, you might have, but this is Disney we’re talking about.

The ones that were making bank even though not as much as Sony for Spiderman and wanted more. We almost lost Spiderman because of their greed.

The same Disney that got our Netflix Marvel shows cancelled because Netflix didn’t want to pay a royalty fee for its success, they are all greedy.

Forget the fans, the ones who pay money for this stuff, they spit in our faces and expect us to throw cash at them anyway.

Good, bad, doesn’t matter. Gonna go see it, while wearing my Red Dwarf hoodie, with BSG shirt under and SG:SG1 hat.

Also, sneak in a bunch of junk foods in me Farscape backpack.

Oh snap I love those shows.

Only thing I want from Star Wars is an old republic tv series done like mando.

Don’t bother, dude. They’re fully convinced Star Wars, a PG movie that has been shown unedited on regular television in the middle of the day for decades for any age to see, is a violent adult film like Die Hard or Punisher. They don’t see the difference. Apparently, having elements for children in your films is an insult now. Somehow it can’t be for both adults and children alike; gotta be one or the other here on the forums.

That would be fantastic.

I named my Pandaren Farscape. It’s my favorite sci-fi show.

Really ambivalent about this movie.

Since I have to take the boy out to buy his mom her x-mas present I may swing by and watch it.

If only to give the wife time to wrap presents.

And I must admit to a morbid curiousity to see if this train wreck can get worse or do they salvage something. Money is on more train wreck though.

Option B is wait for some peeps I know who have good internet skills to find something on the internet in this area.

I’d feel bad but for that last movie Disney should have paid us to watch that. That and I may see Tokyo Disney next year. they will get their money one way or the other.

It certainly had a lot of hoop jumping when it came to explain away inconsistencies. They glossed over a lot of details like why Sith language was a forbidden dialect. I think they missed a golden opportunity to go to the Sith tomb world of Korribarn than whatever that random world was where there was just a random xeno festival to get lost then (even though First Order shouldn’t of given a crap about the locals and just started shooting into the crowd to flush out the rebels)

Though its entertaining enough movie from visual/action point a view if you have nothing better to watch.

Yes, I’m well aware that Disney is happy to cut off it’s own nose to spite it’s face if it’ll keep a nickel from rolling out the door.

Empire Strikes Back was the only good film. Less than 10% is a really bad hit rating.

I wouldn’t trust Disney with kotor since they ruined the new Skywalker trilogy.
