More like they tried to erase the past Star Wars movies with the hope they could take the power away from George Lucas.
It’s inevitable that some elements will be
similar but it’s clear that these Hollywood writers actually think their mediocre copy and paste formulas are some sort of genius.
I can predict the plot and dialogue to most of these shows and movies too often now. That isn’t even the main problem.
The main problem is now everything is just random and illogical. Things will happen and change in a story with little to no rational or logical explanation. It just happens “because”.
WoW writing isn’t all bad, but It’s clear most things are made up randomly and changed or, “retconned”, in attempts to jump on trending literary ideas and devices.
WoW has pretty good side stories that are done by talented people but the main overarching story is usually the worst.
And even more so that they LITERALLY force players to engage the main story by placing punishments on you if you do not.
It’s like someone holding your characters eyes open and forcing you to watch.

YES the first movie since we all know that Snoke was just Palpatine all along now.
I thought he was just a clone?
He created Snoke, and he says how all the voices Kylo heard where his, including Snoke’s.
Snoke was never an actual person.

Besides after how much of a dumpster fire this sequel was, i cant expect the writers to do anything competent with Palpatine’s character, which was the case.
All I know is that if the movie got poor reviews on Rotten Tomatoes it must have done something right

could be they are telling Lucas’s story, not yours. He seems to have done ok with it.
You might want to start writing your own blockbuster. You obviously have better skills than GL and JJ Abrams
Lucas actively says they didn’t use his story and he doesn’t like it. They are making money because it’s star wars, but in comparison they are actually doing poor. Force Awakens had more than 700 million in box office then last jedi… skywalker will have even less… everyone can see this triology is a joke

I never gave any advice. I said you’re ignoring source material. And you even mentioned earlier in the thread that you’re not a huge SW fan. I am. I bet you can’t even remember when I said that I preferred TLJ to TFA and for reasons much different than your own, which I can only see as you interpreting events and the overarching SW saga in a completely different way. I left it alone. As I said, it has nothing to do with disagreements and everything to do with you ignoring facts. Key plot points. And I didn’t even respond about it to you, initially. I was telling the other poster that what they were saying was correct. It’s extremely difficult to discuss something with someone who doesn’t follow the plot enough to delve into its intricacies.
It wouldn’t be hard to be a Hollywood writer.
Just take blocks of story from other popular movies and films. Rename the characters and locations. Keep most of the predictable dialogue and plot.

At least George Lucas didnt made the protagonist a Mary Sue and trashed on the lore at every opportunity

You honestly need a reality check mate. My intention was never to go around telling everyone that I’m right and they are wrong. I’m merely sharing my opinion in a subjective discussion over a fictional setting which is only for entertainment.
Constantly I tried to make peace in ending our pointless dabble in saying “Let’s agree to disagree” (with the other poster of course) but according to you that’s “Vehemently disagreeing”.
Nothing other than your opinion checks out as a “fact”. It appears you can’t comprehend or accept the possibly that others have a different perspective, or perhaps interpret things differently. It simply comes off as naive and tells me that you are either really young, or you are living in a narcissistic bubble. This is the single biggest problem with internet culture today, people lack the ability to look through someone else’s perspective.
Enjoy what you love, learn from others. Do not take it personal if someone disagrees with you, especially if it’s only over a space Opera.
As I said before. It’s a movie.
Different things can share similarities.
My metric is if Star Wars Theory on youtube liked the movie, it was a good Star Wars movie. He is a Star Wars God
Blizzard moved this thread to a forum nobody uses. This thread doesn’t belong here, it belongs back in the General Forums. I hope they can please move it back. I feel like if this thread said something positive, like for example, “Star Wars and WoW both have great writing for these reasons” it would still be up… Criticism is allowed on the General Forums I thought.

Not true though, a lot of people use the Entertainment forum, just look at the ones trending (especially the “What are you listening too” and “Movies you hate but everyone likes”)
