Stalagg now high, open another Eastern PVP server please ASAP

My advice for everyone - Don’t get comfortable on your current server.

Be prepared to pick up and move. Be prepared to not get the name you want. Be prepared to move your whole guild - or LOSE it if you are too stubborn to consider queue issues with relation to your guild event schedules.

Everyone hates dynamic servers with overflow sharding, so you automatically accept that your server might be overcrowded and it’s your choice if you want to stare at login queues or reroll elsewhere.

It’s all on you, not Blizzard. This is what everyone says they want, despite Blizzard’s warnings and 15 years of experiencing the pros and cons.

The evidence is that the realms are filling up before the game even launched. Do you actually think everyone who is interested in Classic is subscribing just to reserve their names?

Alright, calm down, gatekeeper.

Where is the evidence to support that claim, exactly?

Not a bunch. 1 more as of now. I want them to react appropriately and open 1 more server now. You’re taking my argument further than what I’m making it to be. I never said a bunch. And I know Blizz is the expert, but it’s ok to question things. You seem like you’re getting mad. It’s ok if we disagree.

It’s also not the first time they underestimated the interest in what they were launching.

Name a single Blizzard launch that wasn’t a nightmare.

I hear you.
I also don’t want unhealthy populations.
We might disagree with some of the finer tweaks that get to that point, but that’s fine.

High is a good number. It’s probably ideal. There will be more newcomers and they can pick servers as they see fit. Blizzard does not need to and should not release another server right now. They are also the only people who truly have the numbers, and if Stalagg begins to approach Full (because we don’t know when that will be) then they ought to consider it. Right now is not the time. You don’t need to be on a Low population server to escape playing with others or the game being clogged up.

The situation as it is is fine. F I N E.

They kinda force people to get queues when Classic will be live by waiting them to be Full and still allow people to create toons on it. Thats a weird way to handle the thing.

Legion. BfA.

WoD was their worst, and they solved that rather quickly.

Good advice.
I think being flexible and having control of your own destiny will prove to be a good thing.

legion and BFA… basically all they did in recent wow history.

BFA had few hiccup for the 3 or 4 most overpopulated server where a small chunk of the players couldn’t log back in during the first day… that’s it. it’s a dream launch in the software world.

Everything is fine, the servers haven’t even crashed yet. Too soon to fix this problem, need to wait till it’s too late.

Alright, now guess how they accomplished that. With numerous systems that aren’t present in Classic.

Splitting the starting areas. Separating people by class and spec. Sharding. Cross-realm zones. Warmode now in BfA. Solo scenarios that are instanced. Shared quest credit without grouping. Shared resource node collection.

I agree. It’s like in order to have a healthy server, you have to have queues in the beginning b/c of the fall-off later. Can we not have a game where launch is good and the future play is also good? I’m a have cake and eat it too guy, so I think there should be a win-win situation when it’s in your control.

Has it become the official druggie server then?

I also know this may not be an easy solution, but it would be nice if we had a smooth, fun launch and a mechanism created to ensure good future game play.

yeah, since I have had beta, I let my subscription lapse. just playing beta and haven’t resubbed. Im 99% sure I will get my name, I always do on ANY game and ANY server I have been on so haven’t put my name in the queue as well.

They’ll open another server when the numbers tell them to open another server, not before, not after, and not when someone on the forums tells them to.

Do you think the Classic team is just taking the week off and they’re going to come in next Monday and be like “oh shoot all the servers are full! Why didn’t anyone on the forums warn us!” :open_mouth:

We’ll get more servers, relax.

Okay if we disagree on how to handle things, but I have a strong feeling another EST PVP server can get to HIGH status by next Monday, so if it were me, I’d open it now. The benefits of an early opening server is to prevent the current servers from getting too high queues, while giving the new subs a good home. The new server would also give people on the full servers a chance to move if they want to. The new server, if it has a better name than Stalagg, might cause the people to move off Herod, which has been identified as high queues as of now and have them move off a problem server.

But I get waiting until things hit certain number thresholds.
And I would hope the Classic team is monitoring things closely. The Herod overcrowding shows me that they are not monitoring and acting upon things as close as you think though.

your really on mark huh no. Foolish is you. They will all be full to the brim. The bulk of player base is not subbed still.

I would respond, but I have no idea what the heck you’re talking about in your first sentence.

There will be a large second push of subscriptions. I agree with you there, which is why I want Blizz to react quicker to opening servers.
