Never seen Ven use a spriest before actually
For all of the many shortcomings of the class and spec tree, shadow being able to get Mind Restraint (MB preventing the next X damage dealt) is pretty cool. The value in PvP is obvious, but even in PvE, it’s a nice chunk of value. Sure, it’s nothing super noticeable for discipline on live, but we cast far, far more mind blasts (lower CD + procs + no mana worries). Obviously the final tuning matters, but based off live, it could provide an easy 2k hps (not counting our own self-sustain) which isn’t insubstantial.
Mind restrain is about 5x more powerful than on live, it pretty much invalidates the need for tank healing at its current tuning level.
If they put an internal cooldown on it for shadow to only proc as often as you’d use mind blast without any resets then it’ll be fine.
Mind Restraint should grant a shield on Shadow Priests, then maybe Sanguine Teachings wouldn’t be so worthless. The Disc/Holy version can stay as preventing the targets damage since their Mind Blasts don’t hit as hard or frequently. If Vampiric Embrace is going to be a talent (or two) it shouldn’t be a cooldown. It should be the old buff (preferably) or debuff style. This would also help with Sanguine Teaching uptime.
