[SPOILERS] That Cinematic Though! 👀

The Sylv loyalist questline doesn’t answer much (no surprise) but at least Nathanos walks off-screen while calling Sylvanas “my love.”

She had a deal with Azshara and, for some reason, didn’t only wanted to kill Nzoth but also have Nzoth serve Death.

So she’s some kind of Death demigod now? She flies to the Ghostlands after that cinematic? Did she fly to a mountain and get a portal or… what, exactly?

How powerful is she, and how, and why?

We may never know, they may shelf her, and honestly that would probably be better than other things they’d do.

…I mean, I’m not surprised, but I still would rather have not known.

that Nathanos x Sylv scene made me all “EWWWWW! Necrofetish! Ewwww!”

One of the best to date. Very nice.

It’s weird because you walk up to it mid-conversation and the sense is that they are still preparing for something big and bad, which is worrying because Blizz still has PLENTY of room for her to come back in a not-quite-raid-boss way.

It looks like my prediction that all of the Sylvanas villainy nonsense was just so Blizzard could have an excuse to make Thrall Warchief again is still on course.

Granted I predicted Saurfang would die as character development for Thrall not Anduin.

I used to be Anti-Thrall Warchief.

I now welcome back Green Moses because JUST PUT OUT THE DUMPSTER FIRE DAMN IT!

I think… in reference to the conversation above, that the Forsaken wanting to side with the Horde rather than Sylvanas makes complete sense. Of course they supported her in the beginning, because she gave them a home and a community and someone to look up to.

But then she killed her own Forsaken in Arathi, even the ones that were trying to rejoin her and not defect to the Alliance. She burned down Teldrassil in response to a line that was literally “you cannot kill hope”.

And the Forsaken thrive on hope. Hope for a better life, for a future, for something worth ‘living’ for, and something that can help them make light of their situation. Many of them were excited at the idea of peace with the Alliance.

I can still see several Forsaken being loyal to their Dark Lady even after this, but if I was in their shoes and had somehow remained loyal, the “The Horde is nothing” line would have done it for me. That’s why the Look:tm: happened. The Horde, who has always been there for the Forsaken when no one else would accept them, and who accepts the other races in similar standings, is something to be seen as honorable. The Horde is their home, it’s their family, it’s all they have.

So for Sylvanas to spit on that after all that she did to wrong her own Forsaken by telling them that it’s “nothing”, is awful. I think it’s 10000% justified for the Forsaken to be like “wow, maybe this lady doesn’t care for me as much as I thought she did.”

Literally the least gross thing about Nathanos is the fact that he is a corpse.

Which is… almost impressive, if it wasn’t so profoundly upsetting.

Oh god I watched it and I felt gross doing so

Romance was the only reason Nathanos got a new body to begin with.

Okay here’s a thing I love: When Lor’themar and Shandris are talking, and Shandris says the Sentinel’s knowledge of these lands were old when the Farstriders were young, Lor’themar says “Yes, of course.” But the way he says it sounds so scared and intimidated, it’s adorable.

He must have a humiliation fetish.

Thalryssra and Jaina also discuss Jaina’s flying boat.

Plus Lor’themar says after the cinematic “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT THING SHE DID TO VAROK!? YA’LL SEE THAT S**T?! SHE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE!”

With quest text and dialogue around it, that cinematic actually does play a bit better. They acknowledge a lot of what would otherwise be plotholes.

The Loyalist ending and am I alone in that Sylvanas seems a little all over the place re undeath?

I pitied the forsaken and the injustice that made them what they are.

*$^% the living amirite guys? Lets go kill everyone.

They really should have just had the loyalist players uncover how insane she was, realize they made a mistake, and switch to helping Saurfang.

Why the hell would anyone help someone kill everyone on the planet?

“Corpses will lines the streets”

She said to her living, mortal champion

Blizzard: WoW is a roleplaying game.

Also Blizzard: Your character is now suicidal and a maniac all-around.

Ah, yes. The Forsaken. Truly, they clung to hope and life.

They did give us the option right before we proceeded to kick Eiritigg’s elderly orc patooty all around the warrior training hall.
