I see them going this way. The Illidan route if you will.
I think Blizz knows this and likes the unrest it causes.

Iām so sick of Brad Pitt Jr. and evil Arwen.
Unrest is cool. Keeps people talking. They need to still write a conclusion that satisfies all story elements.
As sad as it is Sylvanas was killed too many times already, first by Arthas, then by herself, then by Godfrey, then by the writers, sheās suffered enough
Nobody has ever accused Blizzard writers of being smart.
The writers should have treated the faction leaders the same way they treat us. Meaning⦠they donāt die.
Cairne should still be in Thunderbluff, Sylvanas should still be in her basement, Voljāin on his island and Thrall in the center of Orgrimmar.
Problem is that itās not believable if you have immortal characters, itās nice to see them dying from time to time to give space for others but the last expansions were too rough for the horde, theyāre constantly resorting to high profile deaths to cover the lack of story.
Nothing in this game is believable and like I already pointed out: we are characters in the story that never die. There would be nothing wrong with treating the faction leaders the same way.
They seem to like writing endings that satisfy them more than anything.
Sylvanas is kerrigan
Even if it could be so iāll still stick around for the story.
I think a possibility is she turns on the Jailer and in turn becomes the jailer. Saving Azeroth and changing the nature of damnation.
She is redeemed for saving Azeroth, she frees the souls unfairly damned, thereby earning a measure of forgiveness feom Tyrande - and she becomes THE Dark Lady
