I haven’t watched season 8 yet after seeing reviews. Pretty disappointing that they seemed to just speed through it super fast just to get it over with.

TFW you rush the ending season of a well loved franchise so you can make tons of money from Disney to kneecap another loved franchise along with Rian Johnson.

The ending was definitely rushed, specifically the last season and arguably the previous one too (I still really enjoyed the previous season, though).

I think if you remove the Dorne stuff from season 5, it would have been excellent.

Still probably my all-time favorite show. Aside from the issues I’ve listed above, it was awesome. Still disappointed in the last season, unfortunately.

I love Game of Thrones and the special effects are top notch but man…that last episode was not my favorite.

The two things that did hit me in the feels was…

Heartbreaking scene when the dragon Drogon nudges Daenerys dead body. He has lost both his brothers and now his mother.
Jon Snow reunited with Ghost who is missing an ear…awwww.

At least we have two more books to look forward to.
The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

Also a Game of Thrones prequel series is coming to HBO

The way everything was set up, I cant say im all that disappointed. There was no “happy ending” that everyone wanted. People died, things happened. Characters made choices that had consequences, just like in real life. If they had wrapped up the show with everyone smiling, it would have sucked.

If you think a “happy ending” is what people expected, you haven’t paid attention to the people who actually watched this series. We wanted an ending that made sense and did justice to the characters, something these showrunners are clearly incapable of.

I heard this on one of the gazillion “reaction” videos on youtube and it’s 100% correct.
Dumb and Dumber were ad-libbing and just going for cheap ends so they could get started on their Star Wars adventure.
I wasn’t looking for characters to ride off into the sunset creating babies and ruling the world in peace and harmony, but this season felt 100% rushed, there could have been 6 more episodes easy.
Even the actors when asked in interviews showed disappointment in how Season 8 was done.

I love the mini series Chernobyl.The horrors of radiation and what the people experienced with the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union is more scary then any monster in a horror movie.

“Chernobyl is on fire, and every atom of uranium is like a bullet penetrating everything in its path.Metal, concrete, flesh. Now Chernobyl holds over three trillion of these bullets. Some of them will not stop firing for 50,000 years."

I mean seriously. Daenerys goes from fiery, good-natured but rash ruler to raving psychopath in the span of half an episode, and then burns down an entire civilian populace and proclaims them “free from tyranny” in the next, only to go on to give a grand speech about “breaking the wheel” for everyone, across the entire world!

And surprise surprise, Jon does the “muh honor!” thing and stabs her in the chest in the middle of one of her insane speeches begging him to join her in her crusade. Like. What? What is this? What is any of this?

i stopped reading the books after jon died. cba watching the shows even thoguh I know they changed that.

I know a few people who like the way this season ended. The much more popular opinion I hear is that it’s not a good ending / direction.

I’ve seen the adverts and was curious if it was any good. What they showed in them seemed to be spot on, so I may check it out.
