“The lord of ravens will turn the key.” - Il’gynoth
That’s what I’m saying, you don’t just name things ‘The Guardian’ and make them ominous.
The wheelchair is Xal’atath in disguise.

Explain how void elfs can be priests? If the light hurts the void.
The light hurts death and demons not the void.
Explain how alleria and turaylon can embrace?
If Khadgar isn’t being set up as a raid boss could be the other Council members who probably are stuck in Xal’atath’s mirror being corrupted.
Cause wouldn’t be a neat mechanic dealing with mages shooting Void corrupted Frost, Fire, and Arcane magic at you while dodging Void corrupted Mana Buns? Also expect Polymorph to be used but instead of a confused sheep it’ll be a Void corrupted confused sheep that rams other players!
But no killing the Corrupted Council members because they were corrupted. Instead they break free after a sound thrashing. Or Alleria does something.
That is mainly due to inconsistent writing. Mid in Legion, we are shown that void and light do not mix with Ty and his wife. But later on apparently everything smoothed out. Also, in the campaign finale quest we see Fearin using the light to harm the void entities attack us, not just because she’s a paladin, but because it harms void entities. Light is the polar opposite of the void, as is fel to arcane. They don’t mix. My theory as to why VE’s can be priests is simple, they embrace it, and the other void entities that do not, get harmed by it. But then again, this isn’t the first time we’ve experienced inconsistent and blurry writing.
Edit: also I did a bit of digging. Lore wise void elves can only be shadow priests, this is hinted at in the quest to obtain them. For gameplay reasons however, blizz can’t give a race just one spec.
I mean, Khadgar is about as neutral as it gets. The only way we fight him is if someone finds a way to ressurect Medivh from a talisman (Thnik Voldemorte holcrux) and Khadgar is manipulated into defending New Karazhan which is completely updated as a whole new raid and is ironically set in the past (like the Caverns of time) without the whole race modification thing.
Yeah that seems like too much for Blizz. If they do it (which would be a sht move), it’ll probably be in Midnight with Xal or something as a corrupted boss fight.
idk… we just had some corrupted boss fights and they tend to end up boring. If they make him a boss, it needs to be creative and make sense. I mean, how do you control the most powerful non-partisan wizard of all time in WoW? Even that gem stone did not change him, and Anduin pumped a ton of light into him to bring him back. Even if a void seed were planted, when he died, it died with him. The Light would not bring that back, at least it shouldn’t.
Xal wouldn’t want Anduin to be chill with the light again.
If Xal wanted the Light to get stronger that’s probably what Midnight is gonna be. Bigger light means bigger shadow. But a priest that can easily mass rez like the BfA cinematic? No villain would want that in the heroes arsenal. Even if its Xal and all her “yay fighting makes me stronger” black blood.
I’ll start believing it when he starts going around with no shoes on
My personal belief is he is being mind controlled and is, essentially, a sleeper agent. Hot goth mommy has proven she is top tier at manipulation and has been easily goading and leading Alleria around by the nose all campaign. I can easily believe she wanted Alleria to break that necklace and free Khadgar and “foil her plans”.
My bet is that neck was a phony and Khadgar has had himself a nice void brainwashing session. We’ve gotten our own taste of it in the past with horrific visions and the legendary cloak in the past. We’re playing into her hands at every step. She probably even wanted the bugs to lose so they’ll be weakened and without a leader so they’ll be ripe for her deeper plan.
Also keep in mind old Irridi is still MIA and there is no way he’s out of the picture. A much smaller part of me can believe the Khadgar we freed is old rockhead in a visage but as others have pointed out, it isn’t really his style…like at all. Far more likely, and I agree, is he’s going to be the focal point of a major yet filler patch. Maybe even the end boss for this expansion end or something.
But I do believe Khadgar is a timebomb waiting to be set off…willingly or maybe even unwillingly by even his own mind/intentions.
I sure hope we won’t have to kill him, he’s a chill comedic character. Eh, maybe he’ll just leave to Karazahn to retire, but I sadly doubt it. I don’t know, if he was a raid boss and controlled, it may be an Anduin situation. We don’t kill them, but almost.
