*Spoilers* Anduin end cinematic

His damn story ended when someone else’s frozen buttocks adorned the throne.

What did you expect? The storytelling in this game went downhill since BfA. Since then I expect nothing but low quality writing, at least I’m not surprised when I see cinematics like this one xd

Nobody ever thought she was an angel but she was very much a character about survival and practicality-- not so much vindictiveness. Edge of night was when the overtly sneaky and devious stuff got pushed, which was in cataclysm. Legion seemed to walk that back (aside from the helya quest which seemed like a last minute change). Then BFA walked it way forward.

It’s because Uther trusts her now because he had the same thing happen to him, and Jaina trusts uther.

She genuinely believed she was saving souls from a horrible fate because she was, well, tricked by a god who had the other half of her soul. Edge of night is a short story that showed her she’d go straight to the maw (untrue) rather than revendreth. So, idk, she got played. Sucks.

I think the story explicitly points out that nobody’s forgiven her, though. The only one who does forgive her is Tyrande, I think, which is based on explicit conditions that more or less put her under close watch.

Finally watched it. Pretty good!

Arthas, while gone, is afforded a luxury that Sylvanas cannot attain. Eternal rest free from enslavement.

She wishes him away, memory to fade, but I believe she wishes it was her. (I’m leaving the door open for high brow retorts here).

The story arc for her has been great. The unrealistic Verruca Salt tendencies of the masses when it comes to a years long story unfolding churns the stomach. Vom Bomb babies be a cryin’ everywhere. Blurp…there’s another! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Understandably what we imagine is oft different that what someone else creates (book to movie fails type thing). Patience in storytelling is lacking in our fast paced interconnected world. (Speed of light book club).

Outspoken critics get more traffic and likes. Me? I’m just sitting here with my bib on in case - Blurp! - Phew!, glad I was wearing it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If that were the case there was ZERO reason to mention/show him at any point in the Shadowlands expansion.

They mentioned/showed us a lot of deadies.

Why mention him at all though. They brought him up for not even a minute and ruined his character in that time

The only thing I can think of is Arthas was a favorite of Afrasiabi or one of his cube-crawl -crew, and this was a middle finger to them. Nevermind that nobody externally would get the association, so you’ve crapped on your own story for petty revenge.

Whatever the reason, it was obvious they aren’t competent to continue a story. The relationship with Jaina is now totally unresolved. No goodbye. No explaining how or why he held the scourge back as long as he did. Was that to save Jaina? Who knows? NOBODY KNOWS AND NEVER WILL! TUNE IN NEXT XPAC FOR MORE AMATEURISH STORY DRIVEL!

Don’t worry though we still have Sylvanas and Bluther who both acted like absolute crap toward one they should have learned substantially more empathy for after their own post death experiences.

The end of Ner’zul was better than this. At least we know he was tormented to insanity.

Did they though? You’re telling me that because of the 30 seconds he got in a cinematic that you didn’t like, his entire Warcraft and WotLK arc is now ruined? Or are we just being dramatic?

I’m going with the latter, to be honest.

Not to mention that Arthas was being controlled by the Jailer, with even less free will than she had, yet she has the nerve to criticize him while having been just as bad if not even worse. The whole thing is utter tripe. Danuser is a hack that can’t even keep his own story straight because that would mean acknowledging the works of the superior writers that came before him.

Did you notice how Anduin split the sword into two parts. Varian and Saurfang are the only other people who have done so.

Shadowlands(and BFA) has ruined everything I ever loved about Warcraft. I cant imagine greenlighting this god aweful trash. I cant believe a real human being with a working brain actually wrote these story moments.

This is arguably all Uther’s fault.
Sylvanas is worse than Arthas ever was.
Saurfang is worse than Arthas ever was
Garosh got the only character appropriate ending.

I’ll keep saying it. Wrath was infinitely better at handling Arthas’ end. Everyone got an epilogue send off. If Sylvanas wanted some ansty send off to Arthas it should have been OPTIONAL. Not force in all our face. She is the one that needs to fade into obscurity.

Nah she’s not going to fade like the good mary sue she is. She won’t get punished for anything. Nathanos on the other hand will probably be blamed for everything and get the Arthas treatment.

No Saurfang is a Terrible choice and…… Based on timelines Saurfang should have ended up in the Maw…

Why not Arthas father since they freed Arthas again.

Following timelines should Saurfang ended up in the Maw?

and yet they hyped him with Uther throwing him into the Maw with Uther going through a guilt hellish trip over it with Sylvanas causing all matter of bull S**T because of him and then there is the fact that jaina was in the SHadowLand a HUGE KEY character in Arthas life.

this expansion was about the big bad guy that apparently started the whole damn undead thing on Azeroth, Arthas was a key factor and people expected the obvious.

they didn’t wanted to make this expansion around Arthas?? then they shouldn’t have involve the Jailer’s story with Arthas in the first place.

honestly not sure how to feel about that cinematic. it felt, very underwhelming, it had the potential for so much more, and it just. I don’t know at the end it was. okay, that’s it?

Uther freaking threw Arthas into the maw, nothing said? Bolvar didn’t do anything. what was jaina’s purpose for being there?

and why was Sylvanas the only one to run towards Anduin? I mean come on!

let’s not mention how they’ve treated Baine with this expac, and Anduin is without doubt one of his best friends and they put him in the corner alone against a wall pouting like a 2 year old, and Varian/Varok at the sword was nice, but felt like fan service. I dunno. I’m glad we don’t have Arthas 2.0 anymore but this whole storyline has been confusing at best.

I would have loved a quest line with Dranosh going to save/find Saurfang from the Maw. You could imagine Dranosh ending up in Maldraxus after the events of ICC.

Sort of a son now having to save the fatherl twist.

I mean if it was, good. Those people were monsters.

I kind of doubt it was though. I just know his track record with women both real and fictional is not great.
