Because last time they did it, people like you complained they let them get away, actually that is a question i should ask, if they killed her would you still have a problem killing Zul’Jan because that will tell us a lot about how you view killing characters

I’ve had a thought of him needing to learn something that the Blood Elves use. He has to learn something from people hate. But doing so he gains skills he could teach Amani that don’t rely on the Loa.
First idea was using the Light, that Amani Paladins whose order is based around their LightWood Weapons. They pass on their weapons to an apprentice when they die, like the Crusaders from Diablo.
Another would have been Ula-Tek turning out to be a Mana Wyrm, him becoming a ShadowHunter with Mage skills. No this isn’t the Amani relying on Loa, as their new Mages wouldn’t need to call on the Loa’s power.
So by letting go of his hatred of the Elves (and Loa), he gains the goals he wanted to have the Amani have a chance to not rely on the Loa always, and gain his own standing that isn’t connected to his sister.

As I have said in the story discord, being dead no longer means a character is removed from the story.
Vol’jin died; he’s now a regenerating Loa who I am sure will have some presence in the future.
Garrosh died, and despite his death, he still had a significant role in Shadowlands and went out the way he lived rather than be a servant or slave for the Jailer to use.
I remember at one point during an interview for Midnight some of the developers stated that Zul’jarra’s and Zul’jan’s story was not a ‘flash in the pan’ but was instead something that would carry forwards throughout Midnight and beyond. So just because he’s dying in 12.1 doesn’t mean he’s out of the picture for good and can’t be brought back in some form later.

Aw, well that kinda sucks. I was hoping for a more nuanced approach with Zul’jan.
Maybe there’s more planned for him beyond what we’ve seen so far, but I think the reaction from many players says something worth paying attention to: people want interesting characters to remain relevant for longer and have room to evolve over multiple expansions.
At this point, I genuinely wonder if WoW’s biggest narrative limitation isn’t the writers themselves, but the need to constantly resolve characters into clear villains and boss fights instead of letting stories breathe.
The irony is that WoW’s audience keeps getting older, while many players seem to be asking for more complex characters and longer character arcs. At some point, Blizzard may need to decide whether it’s writing for the audience that grew up with Warcraft, or the audience it hopes to attract in the future.
Because if the goal is to do both, the question becomes: how do you tell stories that satisfy new players without sacrificing the depth long-term players keep asking for?

Predictable, but disappointing all the same. This means the Amani storyline is forever stuck with Zuljara. Similar to Gilneas, Blizzard installed an inoffensive leader and calls it a wrap.
My guess is that Blizzard is just trying to permanently wrap up every faction conflict before abandoning the story for an Arathi mainland reset. Hence, they have this inoffensive female leader template that can serve as a wet blanket for faction conflict.

The fact that Zul’Jan ended up where he did in the story is indisputable evidence that what I said is correct and yet here you are arguing anyways because every miserable twitted user will never admit to being wrong about anything.
Thinking druid is a fun class to play in a video game has nothing to do with lore discussion as its telling how miserable of a person you are that it even occurred to you to think this.
They beat you over the head with Zul’Jan’s villainous traits during the campaign and you ignored it. Instead you chose to project your headcanon onto the character. And now you’re throwing a temper tantrum because you’re wrong.
Zul’Jan being willing to sacrifice the Amani to the will of an ancient evil entity and Malacrass in order to tale back Anami land is building upon the character they set up in the campaign and instead of recognizing you were wrong you just keep doubling down. Maybe try actually reading the lore.

These part, these could have way of Getting not just Amani into light but trolls thems elf then just Loa only, this could help be liek how LIght would could be spark or some thing use to help deal with the lightbloom but way to craft new weapons of war but try to undestand meaning and groth of Lightbloom be harnest but use right then just blight on world.

Dying in a 5 second mini cinematic in a raid isn’t a significant role. He committed suicide on screen. That was his only contribution
Thing is, Zul’jan isn’t even that interesting of a character. He’s just another typical Lets just slaughter the blood elves, and we dun need no stinking allies, because that’s been working really swell for us the last few decades type of character.

At this point…it’s an agenda…it can’t be anything but. I think Lor was only saved by the sheer grace of it being ‘too obvious’ but I’m not holding out hope that he might not still die.
I’ve just given up on the writing at this point…they hate us…and want us to know it.
I don’t know who this story is actually for…but I’d love to actually know.

Meanwhile Amani still got roots of old wow back then… as well could be underdog like stormcloaks.
It seems we will literally kill Zul’jan as a raid boss or as a questline boss, based on datamining. Let’s be real, it’s likely they based the leadership of the Amani Trolls on Blizzard’s co-presidency and therefore they were determined to make us fight Zul’jan. Blizzard’s co-presidency was one of the first things that came to my mind when Zul’jarra and Zul’jan were revealed as characters in Midnight.
