Arator in the new questline: “Quel’thalas needs the windrunners”
Alleria: abandoned Quel’thalas multiple times and her presence brings danger to all civilians thanks to her link to the void.
Vereesa: helped the purge of Dalaran, her soldiers fed sin’dorei to sharks and killed them in the streets so they couldnt leave the city. Her mini-faction had the purpose of not letting sin’dorei ascend to places of political power in Dalaran.
Sylvanas: doesn’t care about the Horde at all, or about anyone, committed genocide.
Ah, yea, Arator, i’m sure that sin’dorei of Quel’thalas needs the Windrunners.

Sylvanas did died as a hero defending quel’thalas. Banshe Sylvanas and ranger Sylvanas are just not really the same character after what Arthas did to her but ranger Sylvanas did alot for Quel’thalas.

Alleria Windrunner who fought the Horde and killed the orcs who laid siege to Silvermoon. She who fought for Silvermoon for centuries. Sure she consumed the Void, but did not as of today lose herself to it. She still upholds the values of her people and will forever commit to save Quel’thelas from all threats from within and from without.
Vereesa Windrunner who met with Halduron to save Quel’thelas from the Amani threat and fought to save Silvermoon from invasion. Exiled for refusing to take the fel and consume living creatures mana. Silver Covenant while controversial are true children of Silvermoon and should be put to work and if Aethas can forgive her so can Silvermoon,
Sylvanas Windrunner died for Silvermoon. She was a hero before being turned undead. She’s probably not the best candidate to lead the charge and save Silvermoon, but no elf can deny her commitment to her people.
The Windrunners are also paragons among their people and the name Windrunner has a long storied history and is considered the top echelon of Elven nobility. A well earned history and while only a scant few survive of this mighty house, they have a right to their lands and more so to live up to their legacy.

I would also point out Vereesa and co saved Azeroth from Deathwing and gave the Dragons back their power, power they would later need to stop Deathwing and the Cataclysm.
And then she again helped save Azeroth from Sinestra’s plan and she was again part of the reason Sinestra died.

Can’t forget Day of the Dragon! I haven’t read that book in years!
Vereesa is the one out of these that really committed an atrocity against her own people. Blizz just loves to ignore it.

Aethas is a turd. I’m not basing anything on him or the dementia level writing Blizz tends to have.

I grant this for Sylvanas and Alleria, who for all their flaws and past conflicts with Quel’Thalas are at least superheroes held in high esteem for heroism in defense of the kingdom and its people, but not for Vereesa. Whatever goodwill her blood elf hate group gained by helping the Farstriders clear ZA in Cata was voided by her Purge in MoP. Quel’Thalas needs Vereesa less than Sylvanas and Alleria need a mediator.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Arator thinks that Quel’Thalas needs the Windrunners, and wants them to take up their family’s ancient duty of protecting Quel’Thalas once again. Both Alleria and Sylvanas explain to him why they cannot do so. Sylvanas points out that he’s a Windrunner too, and essentially tells him to step up himself if that’s what Quel’Thalas needs.

I’m hyped for more Vereesa screen time! She’s been sidelined for far too long!

It’d be nice if Blizz would let Blood Elves help themselves for once. They also have the whole Horde to back them. But instead we need this Alliance linked character that I’ve only ever had one previous interaction with on my Paladin.

I hear that Calia is pretty much free.
Calia is too busy patting ex-Scarlets on the head right now.

Calia actually is around, she’s one of the priests helping at the Sunwell. Liadrin is the principal familiar NPC in Zul’Aman, and Halduron fills a similar role in Harandar. Arator is not present in either campaign chapter, and indeed I don’t think I spotted any Alliance NPCs in either zone.

That big golden toilet ain’t gonna unclog itself. Velen will need to perform a holy augery.

My only comfort in all of this is that it seems like the writers finally caught on and Rommath, Halduron and even Lor wont be giving up their positions to the Windrunners in Midnight. No sudden badly written replacements, or demotions….or deaths.
I feel like they are setting up Arator to be the ‘bridge’ in the lore between his family and Silvermoon. I just hope they have the courage to have him face what happened in the purge….I really hate that they keep glossing over that so much.
If the person calling for it had not been Vereesa…he ahem would have seen some kinda retribution for it….I know it. >_>

I feel like Arator learning about his mother’s homeland wouldn’t have been a bad road to take. Would at least have less Steve Buscemi carrying a skateboard with a backwards ball cap energy.

Personally, I hope that Ranger-General Halduron proves him wrong.
My biggest fear in Midnight — is that Halduron will be sidelined for tHe WiNdRuNnErS – ESPECIALLY the Alliance ones of Alleria and Vereesa Windrunner …
Honestly, SO damn many of us are so sick to #!%&^!&! death of having Horde characters be CONSTANTLY bloody sidelined, humbled, surpassed or utterly crushed — merely for the spotlight or ascension of Alliance characters.

This is, hopefully, how the Forsaken get their Paladin lore tie in rather than some butt pull
