"Spider on the Wall"; as if I didn't already hate spiders

So got onto playing a bit late yesterday and saw that this WQ was up and gave a quite nice weapon which my Paladin could use, so went to do it. However, the timer was about to run out and I only had about 10m to get there and do it.

First of all, I could not find the damned npcs I had to pickpocket and it took me some time to sneak through the mobs and locate them.

When I did, I ended up with about 3 minutes to get the last guy. I arrive there and find a Horde player sitting close by. I start the pickpocket and, smash, the Hordie attacks the NPC, the sneak buff is lost, I cannot get the quest item and the timer runs out.

Now, I’m assuming that person was sitting there for that very purpose - to stop anyone (either Horde or Alliance) from being able to complete the quest. Now, I didn’t rant and scream about it because ultimately it’s all pixels and not worth growing wrinkles about. But I will never understand how anyone gets any healthy satisfaction from doing things like that. I mean, I’m not noble or anything but now and then I’ve helped another player kill some mob or other just because I can. But to spoil someone’s play that way seems so very childish and mean spirited.

Whoever it was, mate, you seriously need to grow a life.

I understand why you’re frustrated, but you’re making it sound like it’s the World Quest that’s the issue here. Leave that poor wq alone, it’s dear to me.

I am unfamiliar with the quest, was the other guy sitting at the NPC waiting for you to start pick pocketing it or was he sitting there waiting for it to spawn so he could kill it and you happened to need to pick pocket the mob?

Ah that one. I never bother when it comes up…not only does it take forever, but it seems like an enemy so much as sneezes and your cover is blown and you have to run all the way back. I’d rather just kill all the elites then play Metal Gear Solid.

You can loot the quest item from the corpse. You just happened to run into the faction-tag nonsense.

I did it yesterday. Instead of sneaking, everybody was running around like an army going Hulk Smash.

This is literally the worst world quest in game

No, it was standing there, hadn’t despawned, and he attacked it the moment I moved in to pickpocket it. It was a fairly obvious act.

Hey! I love my spider.
Spiders are our friends, unless it’s those spiders from Australia, then yeah, screw those guys.

Yeah that world quest is a pain. I ended up just smashing through it all, stealth be damned. And looting the bodies. It can be slow going, using cc and avoiding NPCs. But it can be done without the Spiders help.

10 minutes is risky with the way WQs are in Shadowlands.

This is called an mmo, you must be new. He’s teaching you a lesson about self entitlement and real life.

Just because you “work” for something in game, does not mean it should be handed to you. Your a fictional character in a fictional game yhe remastered version of demonsouls proved people play games to mess with other players experiences.

In life and wow ppl will stop you from your goals all the time just to stop you from your goals and sometimes it can be a reality check for people who think life is fair.

Yes you did cry and scream about it by QQing in general. Ppl get ganked and lose theyre time all the time.

Imagine when flying is here and more than roguea are trolling wq with air…

Singleplayer games exist for people you.

There was a bonus event in the same place yesterday. I think a lot of people did that thinking they were the spider quest. Sounds like just bad luck.

Sounds a little paranoid. Aren’t you in stealth for that WQ? Even if it’s not a true stealth, I think you’re see through.

He might not have seen you or he might not have been paying attention and he just happened to noticed the NPC spawned when you walked up.

that’s the worst WQ in the game. it’s the only one i skip 100% of the time no matter what the reward is

Spider on the Wall is a super easy quest, although if people are brute-forcing it waiting on respawns is a bit annoying.

Once you’ve done it the first time and know where to go its about as free as it gets for a WQ.

Some people just want to watch the world burn!

Also, some people are jokers.

You really seem like a nice person, one of those who attack the victim rather than the perpetrator in effect. I think the Ignore function was created for your type, and I’ll make use of it.

@OP: This wq is one of my least favorite of the last 3 expansions. If you happen to get knocked out of the quest-specific stealth mechanic, it’s a long run back to the npc that gives you the buff, and a long run through a bunch of elite mobs at that. And the chance of getting knocked out of stealth on the very first npc mob is really high (i think i’ve successfully got the loot from him once on the first try because of the mobs that surround him that like to walk right on you when you’re trying to steal). Honestly, an easy fix that would make this quest about 11,600% more tolerable would be if getting out of combat you could restealth instead of that emergency get-me-the-hell-out-of-here-and-waste-5-minutes bullcrap ability.

This WQ is indeed absolutely horrible.

Saw a player doing this last night, and a rando mm hunter decided to have a answer to it. Aggroed all the mobs and the big bad on the perch at the last area and ran right as the player was attacking the pick pocket mob and dropped them on them and FD as they popped a heavy AoE.
Was kind of entertaining. To bad was alliance, pretty sure the general chat was colorful after that.
