As The Last Titan and a return to Northrend approaches, what are you hoping to see? What are some side plots or minor characters you hope will appear - either picking up original Northrend plot threads, or callbacks to events from the World Soul saga, or anything else?
I’m hoping that we’ll run into Har’koa again. And the other Gundrak loa, but mostly Har’koa. I’d love to see the Zandalari chroniclers return to the zone to see how the loa have recovered - it’s been long enough that we could see some of the other loa like Rhunok or Quetz’lun returning.
I also really want to see the Explorer’s League, with some nod to them having been in Northrend studying Titan tech through all the intervening years since WotLK. I know we’ll probably see dwarves anyway, but I really want to see it in this context specifically, and not have them be new (re-)arrivals like us players will be.
I hope Dagran II and Brinthe show up to continue their Titan research from TWW. And I hope we get some small chapter of Muradin returning to the frost dwarves in Storm Peaks.
I’m looking forward to the Scourge warlords that have been onbliquely referenced so far. I don’t have any clear idea of who they’ll be, but I’m excited to find out. I hope they’ll get some backstory to them - some feats they’ve done in the intervening years, rivalries with our allied characters in Northrend, some new techniques that let them keep the Scourge from getting eroded away since the death of the Lich King, etc - rather than their existence only mattering once TLT’s campaign starts.
And finally, I hope the Forsaken get a chance to really shine. I’d love to have at least one significant minor character who’s been on a one-man killing streak of Scourge all the way since WotLK - to represent the Forsaken whose purpose was found in destroying the Scourge that killed them, and also to show that there have been ongoing efforts to eradicate the Scourge since then. And I’d love another significant minor character who’s a Forsaken who’s been trying to capture Scourge units and break their minds free, who has recruited a number of undead into the Forsaken ranks that way.
What are you guys hoping for?

I’m still curious why Mimiron and Odyn have been absent from helping the Worldsoul since BfA. Their sole responsibly, pushed onto Magni instead.

For me it is Freya. She was absent for all of Legion despite the other keepers of Ulduar appearing throughout the expansion. Hell two of them I was able to boss around as a Warrior
For me this particular story thread is not necessarily a main one but I want to see the Gorloc and Wolvar orphans all grown up and having their predicted futures being a reality.

Something new were the Freysworn Earthen around the Isle of Dorn. Oddly their green armor and tabards weren’t released (unless I missed a trading post month), potentially saving for a plot. Maybe.

Hope i relaly dont know or care much
im sicka dn tired like hell of the cosmic plot beats that they asitll cant do remotly well
i do expecetd alot oof achtully tians ebil all along !!! type stuff
I am really hoping for a reckoning with Odyn. My major hope would be will kill him, and bring his head to Helya, and that helps her become a little less evil. Like she is all rage, and then softens after. Even though Helya is a fun Ursula type character, I think it would be a touching moment.
I always felt Helya got a raw deal, and is not sympathized much among fans. But I have been wanting to kill Odyn and bring Helya his head since Legion. I never liked him. I felt only a villain would have done what he did to Helya.
That aside, I am continually looking forward to Voljin’s return. When or why - who knows? Maybe TLT, but that could also be an important enough plot point to anchor the next “saga” or what ever comes after the World Soul Saga.
Yeah, I am sick of Brann… if Dagran steps in and is our new brainiac friend, I am fine with that. He seems friendly and nice and well intentioned. I still hope that he will turn his studies towards being a Warlock, and maybe one of the first big name heroic Warlocks.
Yeah that is an interesting tease. Makes me wonder how powerful they are. Like will they be dungeon bosses? World bosses? Raid bosses?

I think some might be dungeon bosses, probably just the one dungeon though. I think most of the scourge presence will be in delves with maybe one “world boss” (lair bosses) up in the expanded Icecrown zone. I don’t see any proper instanced raid bosses unless they are in like 1 off raids that are not connected to the main story like Dreamrift and Sporefall are. More so the latter. Simply because of the treatment Deatholme got in Midnight. There might get a few side quests etc devoted to them though.
Then again Blizzard could do a “well it was offscreen so it doesn’t count” like they always do and have the whole plot thread of the Argent Crusade and Knights of the Ebon Blade containing the scourge as non-canon for reasons.
In my opinion the scourge should just fade away from existence at this point in WoW’s life time. Between vanilla, Wrath, Cata / MoP and Shadowlands I think the scourge has run its course. Time to let them die.
I agree. I am hoping that we will see the Scrouge broke out and see them in a lot more areas. Or at least see evidence of them breaking pushing over a large part of the continent even if they later got pushed back. I want to see some evidence of the costs of destroying the helm. The whole point was Bolvar restraining the Scrouge. We haven’t really seen the costs of losing that restraint.
Also, I really want to see a continuation of the whole wolf issue in Grizzly Hills. Especially with the Worgan in the story, it feels like there is a lot of room for some interesting story to be told there.

I’m hoping the Dragonblight zone will be a Dragonflight continue. I’m also hoping for at least some Faction content in that.
You head to your Faction base in it. From there your Faction Dracthyr faction leader sends you to the battlefield to help the Ebon Scales. You also get a quest to help out the Healing Wings and if not a healer are given a Vulpera Totem or a Lightforged Crystal depending on your faction.
Once done with the Dracthyr stuff you head to the Wyrmrest Temple and help the Dragonflights in whatever order you want.
You then have this leading up to discovering the threat of Iridikron.
You then get a Faction specific quests leading to a Faction specific scenerio. If Horde it is joining Cindrethresh in attacking the enemy main base, since that’s what the Dark Talons were supposed to be used for. While the Alliance follow Azurathel in the Obsidian Warders defending the Temple since that’s their purpose.

I wonder if Iridikron will take out Odyn in the opening setup, to show Iridikron as a threat while taking out a Titan keeper that no one will really miss.
I do wonder if Iridikron will get to kill at least one of the Titans to show how powerful his plans really are. If so, will they go for one of the Titans that they’ve already villainized like Aman’thul, or go for a gut punch by taking out the only still-written-as-good one in Eonar?
Killing Eonar would also pave the way for making the remaining Titans into raid bosses, by taking out the good one and thus leaving only bad ones for us to fight, so I’m leaning towards epecting that.

I hope it ends with a full setting reset, at this point.
Legit i bet on thrall
that gets mojo back to hype up expac and ghetys beaten down he loosses them 5min into expac
Iridikron: “Ha-ha! To show I mean business in fighting the Titans, I shall kill… Thrall!”
Thrall, halfway through eating his lunch: “…Huh? Wha-?” [gets obliterated by evil magic color of the week]
Iridikron: “Hahahaha! Take that, Titans!”
The rest of the cast: tilts heads in confusion

Honestly… I don’t think The Last Titan needs to answer every mystery.
I hope it creates a hundred new ones.
Warcraft has always been at its strongest when Azeroth felt older than our understanding of it. Every answer should open three more questions, not close the book forever.
I don't want the ending to be "we finally know everything."
I want the ending to be "what in Azeroth did we just discover?"
That’s why I actually hope Blizzard leans into the mysteries we’ve been slowly uncovering instead of introducing entirely new ones.
Imagine things like:
- The Cradle gradually being revealed as something far more important—perhaps even Azeroth’s own throne rather than just another Titan facility.
- Azshara deciding she’s done serving cosmic powers and instead trying to claim that throne for herself. That honestly feels more “Azshara” than becoming another servant.
- Iridikron realizing the Titans, Void, Light, and even Death all want the same prize… and deciding none of them deserve it.
- Chromatus finally returning as the apocalyptic monster his lore has always promised. (Seriously Blizzard… it’s been like 15 years.
)
- Forgotten Dragonflights, strange civilizations, and monster races finally getting their chance to shine instead of everything revolving around the same handful of factions.
- Dangerous magic being studied instead of automatically becoming “evil because the plot says so.”
Most of all… I hope exploration returns.
Not just new zones…
New ideas.
The kind of discoveries that keep the community making lore threads, crazy theories, and tinfoil hats for years afterward. That’s always been one of Warcraft’s biggest strengths.
Leave us with answers...
but leave us with even bigger questions.
…and yes, I still want Demon Hunters to fly already.
Also… you did ask what I hoped to see. I merely exercised tremendous self-control by only posting some of my tinfoil theories. My RP group has already written the other 37 expansions anyway.

I’m definitely keen to follow up on a few threads:
- What happened to the Scarlet Onslaught? They’re a little different to the Crusade due to their willingness to harness void and even death magic to win their struggle. As of Legion they were tearing themselves apart, but I’m curious what they’re up to now. I’m here for some sort of void wielding “crusader king” in the north, causing trouble.
- State of the Scourge. As Aviala has said, I’m curious to see what has become of the Scourge after the defeat of the Lich King. I actually want to see a couple of things here, but here’s my most radical idea: a totally culturally isolated “tribe” of free willed Forsaken-esque undead locked away somewhere in the Frozen north. No Alliance and Horde contact. Probably very, very dangerous conditions with wild Scourge and rogue Scourgelords all over the place. But I like the idea of some Northrend undead kind of forming their own society up there, once they were freed from the Lich King’s control. Surely not every undead just went mad. Some, like the Forsaken, must have had a hint of themselves still in there that they were able to reassert. Some very lost and confused survivors of multiple wars who have had no choice but to band together, and survive the chaos of Icecrown (or wherever they are). If I was a writer, that’d so be my angle.
- Definitely a coming together of the casts of Midnight and TWW, and probably Dragonflight too, as everything comes to a climax. We definitely need Dagran involved with Titan research, Alleria finally kicking Xal’atath’s backside, Anduin becoming a hero once more, Thrall doing something useful/relevant again (pls bro I loved you in WC3), Jaina visiting Arthas’ grave and giving it a lil kiss and Sylvanas doing something pretty cool. Clearly I haven’t thought through the specifics on this one but hey it’d be nice to see everyone again lmao.
- Sargeras. Need I say more? Still the biggest, baddest villain in Warcraft 3 history, even if Arthas had the coolest hat.
- Edit: Oh I’m vibing with troll stuff atm so definitely Drakkari time, let’s see what’s left of em and really flesh out Zul’drak, but hopefully as their allies this time.
- Edit 2: I’m gonna say it. I want to see Dalaran. I think disavowing the validity of the city of Dalaran was a stupid narrative decision, and if they covertly rebuild it and it comes back for the final battle, back to Northrend where we first encountered it in game, I’ll be thrilled. It’ll be a very poetic return. Not only to where it all began (in WoW anyway if not Warcraft generally) but to deliver (hopefully) the final blow to the void monster who destroyed it.

Scourge Warlords, Nerubians, and Vrykul are really all I’m excited to see any updates on.
For me, Xalatath got exhausting real quick after the spotlight started to linger on her and I hope that we don’t have to suffer through an entire expansion playing a lame cat and mouse game like we’ve been doing since TWW.
That being said, what I fear most is that the Scourge is largely designed as a monopolisitc enemy faction instead of the shattered and warring break-away factions dominated by various undead and necromancer warlords like what we are all hoping it to be.
Though I’m also curious as to whether or not any new human/dwarf settlements have sprung up around Northrend since the last time we visited it.
Please no, I’m sick of the Bronzebeards and I wish they’d all go away for a minimum of a decade.
Good thing Dagran II is a Thaurissan then
But I can see Muradin at least being involved when it comes to the Frost Dwarfs, as he used to be their King at one point.

I wonder if Wintergarde village was at any point rebuilt following the scourges defeat. And speaking of Wintergarde, I wonder what has happened to the floating, former Nerubian fortress that hovers above it.
I kinda wished in retrospect that we got more about the various Human villages that existed in Northrend prior to Wrath during Wrath. How long ago did Humans go back to Northrend and resettle their ancestral homeland? Did they have any contact with Lordaeron prior to the arrival of the Lich King? How did the villages in Grizzly Hills survive the scourge (until they became pawns of it via Arugal’s shade).
Did any of these humans know of Arthas’ expedition? I mean it seems to be that Wintergarde village existed prior to Wrath and given Wintergardes location, one has to wonder if they saw the 1st Legion. Given Wintergarde village was between the Forgotten Shore and Frostmourne Cavern. Or was this village going to be the one that was mentioned in the WC3 manual as the testing grounds of the scourge plague originally? But was later changed to have been only recently destroyed by the scourge with the arrival of Naxxramas? Makes one wonder where within dragonblight was the human village Ner’zhul subjugated with his plague of undeath.

I feel like Xal would be far more fun if the NPCs actually spent time speculating on what she was planning and what they could do about it.
Half the annoyance is that she’s a mystery box who no one in-universe seems to care about the mystery of - Alleria charges after her, Xal smirks and vanishes, the characters say “Oh no! Anyway…”. Maybe Alleria vanishes to hunt her offscreen, but that’s nothing the player can interact with.
Even Xal corrupting the Sunwell and vanishing into it gets a single line from Umbric about “I wonder where she’s going…” and then… nothing.
So, my (in vain) hopes for any future plot with Xal: If she’s going to be a mystery, write the story like a mystery - have characters puzzle over her plans, make deductions (even if they’re wrong), try to head off her plans (even if their actions don’t actually stop her plans).

I just really want Medivh to come back from where ever he flew off to in the Nether after Return to Karazhan to help us figure out the Sargeras of it all…shrug
