Nah those were not called soulcages, just an item that sucks up souls, like the one we use in Shadowlands to pick up all the night elves, or the ones we used in Legion to pick up demon souls.

It’s a lantern in Helheim used to bind souls. There is zero reason at all to think it’s in any way different than the lantern Sylvanas used.
