We currently bring 2 x ret 2 x hpal and me prot paladin I don’t see the problem?
Your inability to understand that this is the same game from 15 years ago and Rets using T7 gear performed at the bottom like it is today, then I guess there is nothing to explain to you.
You should’ve known better that this is how your class would perform at this stage of the game and if you didn’t then you’re looking like a fool to everyone. And if you knew and you’re still posting then this is straight trolling.
And this is what, the 10th thread for the same issue? Maybe you should try to be less of an attention carebear and join an existing thread instead.
Literally everybody knew it would be lower tier dps until ICC and they get their tier set… just like I knew rolling warrior was going to be a slog until later raids as well. I’m not crying about it though. I rolled prot to get a raid spot, and I dps as off spec.
We had 2 rets in addition to 2 holy and 1 prot pally until yesterday, 1 ret is leaving for DF.
Blizz shifted the forum meta from RDF to Ret pally freak outs with a single blue post and I love it.
Can’t you argue that the release of this game at 3.3.5 is, in and of itself, a balance change to classic?
No, because it was a balance change that actually occurred in wrath.
Rets are getting that TBC rogue treatment. Only rets have utility
I would say it was a design decision from 2019 before vanilla classic launched that they would use the final patch as the balance point for the classic games rather than buff and nerf classes every phase.
are rogues at the bottom of the charts? nah? ok…
In tbc most high end guilds didn’t bring any.
Oh girlfriend, if you think blizzard plans that far ahead you are a lost cause.

Ah, nevermind, I’ll just add you to my ignore list.
No, that is fury and arms warriors while prot warriors are mid tier at best.
It has nothing to do with planning ahead what are you talking about?
It was a simple “final patch is what we will use for classic” decision.
It occurred at the END of Wrath, after Paladins had tier 10 set bonuses which let us reset a major CD off of 40% of our auto attacks.
Let’s just be clear, here.
3 iterations of the game now that have all followed the same balancing path
Why is this different all of a sudden?
I’m not saying it’s different, myself and everyone else are just saying it’s a poor decision.
GOTCHYA!
Well add it onto the countless other specs that got shafted before this. We knew what this was. Knew going into TBC I’d be undesirable. Calling for changes now …good luck
Knew going into TBC I’d be undesirable.
But that’s the difference. We were told they would be watching class performance more this time around since there was a lot of changes to balancing during Wrath. I think it was implied that it would mainly focus DKs but it should apply to all specs/roles.
Ret was never expected to be Stier until maybe ICC. What wasn’t expected was for it to be C almost D tier. That was due to balancing that while expected, hadn’t been data mined with the phase were in or going to be in next. TLDR it wasn’t expected that Ret would perform this poorly.
Has your Ret performance been awful or is this anecdotal evidence kind of thing?
Do you know what logs are? Feel free to compare top Ret paladins to mid tier Unholy DKs or Warlocks.
