Soooo about "blitzchungHS " banning and humiliation?

It’s very likely that, if they didn’t take action, their games could be banned in China and that would be a massive loss.

Yeah its true but Im guessing that a large part of the player base would rather see blizz take a stand on a actually important political issue for once.

If they can flood us with strong independent whamen then why cant they support hong kong?

Because openly supporting Hong Kong or being against china in general is literally a death sentence for any major company.

Yeah this contract clause is literally in every employment contract in America, especially if that company has a public image to maintain.

My goodness, people are so heartless.

If you’re asking for an official to make a statement regarding the ban, they already did that in a press release.

If you’re asking for an official to answer all the questions brought up by that press release and their actions… not going to happen.

They’re hoping this blows over by Blizzcon.

Fat chance of it blowing over by blizz conn hahaha

That was my impression of it. I understand the guy wanted to show support for a cause that he supports and to be honest mostly anyone who knows about it supports it. Unfortunately sometimes you just have to keep your mouth shut in some situations.

You’re not getting your own personal blue post
Read one of the other threads at the top of the list.

We certainly didn’t need another.

Pretty much.
I agree with what he said, but there is a time and place for it.
The punishment he received is valid.

It’s in the ToS for the tourney.

I have a feeling that if they were interviewing Method Josh during an MDI tourney, and he started going off on Brexit and how the EU was actually Hitler’s brain child… they would probably ban him for breaking tourney ToS and take his prize money.

He wants a World of Warcraft Community Manager to talk about a Hearthstone issue?

This is the point exactly.

I’m not sure “valid” is the right word, here.

“Legally excusable”, maybe…

Yes , if blizz can act politically with there game design then they can act politically with there tournaments…

Entirely.
He broke the rules ergo he gets punished.
What is so hard to understand about that?

Think of it this way say you go to your job which is public service like a hospital and go about bashing Trump and how he is destroying the country being in the public eye that can get you really in trouble so you would be committing job suicide.

They have an image to protect which is why they fired the guy and casters there is a time and place for these things take it to FB or Twitter but not in the public eye.
