That’s not correct. Mounts are learned on the battlenet account. If you move your account to another battlenet accout the mount is left behind.
Your account-wide mounts won’t transfer

Hmm, I wonder what’s different about my friend’s account, then. They have two accounts that can be played simultaneously (same login info if I remember correctly, and they select the account after login), and two different people used to play them in raid together, etc. Everything was shared between them, the most recent example I can think of being in BfA when one of them got the mount from King’s Rest, and the other had access to it immediately.
Both accounts are under the same battlenet account (same login). They would share mounts and pets and transmogs.
Is that not what a merge is, then?
Originally, the second account existed for the RAF rewards and wasn’t under any of the same info. It was later added to the main account. Then they shared it with a friend, and only paid one sub for it.
I have used them in the past before I came to the conclusion these mounts don’t exist and gave up.
Maybe something changed in a more recent patch?
I can confirm 100% that bonus rolls work for the world pandaria mounts.
Watched my friends wife get it about a week ago. Sorry about your luck so far
I farm Galleon for the mount every week with all my alts. At the time of this post, I am at 2,669 attempts and no mount drop still. I’ve seen comments on Wowhead mention they have tried for years with no luck at all.
I think it’s suppose to have roughly a 0.02% drop rate, which would explain why it’s a rare drop. I’m hoping I’ll get lucky enough to see it drop for me someday!
I was stupidly lucky and got the Galleon mount my second kill on him back during MoP? I didn’t even know it dropped a mount at the time, nor did I know how stupidly rare it was. Years later and many dead MoP world bosses, it’s the only world boss mount I have. Those world bosses have the same crazy low drop rate that Korthia chests have for transmog.
The drop for the 4 MoP bosses is roughly 1 in 2000 so unfortunately these rates aren’t outside the extreme standard deviation. I think Rukhmar is either 1 in 500 or 1 in 750.
They definitely do work for Pandaria world boss mounts. I got the Nalak mount on a mogu bonus roll.
Nalak and Oondasta use mogu bonus rolls purchased on the timeless isle for timeless coins. Sha of Anger and Galleon use the ones purchased in Townlong Steppes.
MoP world boss mounts are notoriously brutal.
Bonus rolls work on them, so that should help a lot.
Wow, this video brings me back to OG WoW youtube videos with the slightly sped up movement and loud music. That was a nice trip down memory lane
Thanks all - to those who confirmed this thing still drops, and those who managed to share some useful info!
with regards to the old account - it was mine, made it in Cata, but merged it with a new account in Legion. Lost a few things, the weirdest one was the white hawkstrider from KT - I still had the achievement, but no mount!
Guess I’ll keep plugging away at it, it’s the last one for the world boss sets. Nearly have every single mount from classic through to MoP.
I believe the drop rate is like 2/1000. So its probably bad rng.
No, it’s 1:2000 for all the Pandaria world boss mounts.
Oh I was off by a factor of 4. Shoot. Lol. Yup just horrible odds on a 15 minute spawned world boss. Id probably do it more if that boss had better spawns like 2 minutes.
Bonus rolls on the Elder Charm of Good Fortune are bonus rolls in MoP. Its how I got my mount from the Sha.
Elder Charm of Good Fortune - Currency - World of Warcraft (wowhead.com)
to receive a bonus reward from Mogu’shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, Sha of Anger, or Salyis’ Warband.
Salyis’ Warband being Galleon.
PS: just saw you responded to that, so you know already (: Its handy currency to have when doing the MoP mounts, wish we had similar things in later expansions.
