Because the vault doesn’t take into account current meta builds or player stat preferences, nor is Versatility strictly tank or healer stuff (despite what people believe).

Blizz doesn’t restrict secondaries by spec.
What item did you get that’s only on the tank loot table but your loot spec wasn’t tank?
Unless its a ring or trinket, I just assume its for tier conversion. At least for the 5 main pieces going to the 4 pc bonus.
Anything else can be filled by crafted items if need be where you choose the stats.
Whats weird is the versatility. It’s really only a pvp stat. Any class/spec I play have it as the least important 2ndary stat.
Can’t see anything online that shows that as a tank only drop, just a rare one.

Because its random. Of all the pieces of gear for those slots all with different stat allocation, RNG picked those ones
Is why I do full vault on like 4 chars. One of them will get lucky.
I wish I was jk, I just have a problem.
I know I think tank when I look at the effect, but not considered a tank item. I think the proc is just extra gravy rather than taking away stats for the ilvl.
A passive defensive is a super good thing to get. I don’t believe it takes away from the stat budget of the item, so think of it as a bonus.

Vers is for all specs and some specs need a lot more vers than others.

The Vault is out dated AF now, just like raiding, PVP and everything else in the game.
Whats wrong with vers? It’s a good stat that also increases your health making my job easier as enemies have more health to go through till you die

IMO it’s crazy to me that the vault doesn’t have bad luck protection. It should at least be aware that it’s offering something a character already has. If it does offer the same thing it should have a tertiary or socket
What about taking the tokens instead?
Can use anything that you can buy with them?

It isn’t a good stat for all specs… some it is a last place stat like Balance Druid… one of my worst stats. I know there are a couple of others too.
Vers is really good for tanks and it’s also good for some dps specs based on how it scales. It’s NOT just a tank or PVP stat.

no it’s not. it’s the endgame. If it were only bad luck protection, you’d be able to get the same ilvl from the end-of loot chests in M+
For M+ players the vault is one of the most important parts, if not the most important part of character progression.
note: I started playing after the great vault had been put in the game. maybe when it was put into the game originally Blizzard said it was bad luck protection, but I’ve never found any reference to the developers saying it was meant as bad luck protection. I just googled it, and couldn’t find anything about it.
Considering there is a whole separate upgrade track for the great vault, it certainly seems to me like the developers do not intend it as bad luck protection
thats not a tank exclusive item. Just because an item has a flavor defensive effect doesnt mean its only meant for tanks.
