Its probably “CPU Jitters” not lag. I have done the event on on 8 toons on Stormrage, Area52 and Illidan 0 lag. If I have yet to lag all night on those servers its not lag
WoW is a CPU based game not GPU like most games. Its a unique animal so when many people are in 1 place in WoW its VERY taxing on your CPU and RAM. My kid brother would lag in world events ALL THE TIME. I upgraded his rig to the 7800x3D with 64GB RAM. He hardly ever gets “the jitters” in world events anymore. Was 100% his old rig. “CPU jitters” are highly resemblant of heavy lag.
People joke that wow will run on a potato. It will until you step into instanced combat with 40 people in 1 place. Then your screen will freeze
Yeah, it was kinda making it seem like how during Time Rifts, people would just sitting at the top of pillars letting other people do the work until boss time.
There are three zones they can use, Blizzard is sooo close to figuring it out it’s like watching a toddler try to put the star peg in the triangle hole and you want to so badly show them the answer, but you’re committed to seeing how long it takes them to figure it out.
That said, I can run FFXIV in the highest graphics with zero issues. And that game looks waaaay better than WoW with the recent graphics updates they did.
My ISP isn’t an issue either. I get 360 down and 12 up.
And as much as I hate to admit it…I can run D4 on full graphics with zero lag.
Your “evidence” covers you alone, so don’t imply that it applies to all the millions of other players. I’m running a state of the art rig, and have seen “home” latency in the mid to upper twenties, and “world” latency ranging from 200 to 12,000 since Tuesday on Zul’Jin. I play two other MMOs on their highest settings, and haven’t experienced lag in either of them in years. WoW is the ONLY game where I ever experience lag, and I have the video setting turned way down in WoW on my Nvidia 4000 series card.
Maybe you have a bad route between your client and the servers? That would be something that neither your ISP nor Blizzard can do anything about, you might have better luck on a realm in a different datacentre though.
There could be any number of reasons why your connection might not be as stable sometimes. For instance a backbone operator upgrading a bit of kit, digging up cables, whatever and your signal gets diverted around it.
they upped the boss health too. kinda makes it a long drawn-out autoattack slugfest. everybody autoattacking because they don’t know if their spell even went off…
Glad I am done with this event now…got the mount and 3 new battle pets…all that I wanted anyway…nice though you can get 1400 RM just killing the bosses over and over now…instead of 500 it was before.
It has nothing to do with our rigs. Or our internet. I am still on terrible DSL from back when WoW first came out. I have a pretty nice PC as well (new from maybe a year ago?)
Ping is about 40 home/world. It’s the WoW servers. They cannot handle this many people at one time in such a small area. It’s why they limit how many people can be in capital cities (Valdraken for example). But for some reason they did not put that kind of limiter on these event zones.
It is a screw up on Blizzard’s part, not the customers.
