Something is wrong with The War Within

Same in Hillsbrad Foothils with the stag quest, Ashenvale had a quest that would spawn an invisible mob that would follow you around and kept hitting you till you died (idk if they fixed that one)

Thatā€™s similar to what happened to me. I had to ride a Kodo. I imagine Iā€™m supposed to get some sort of bar or ability to fend off attacking lions like other mounted quests, but this lion just chomped on me with no ability to attack it. Then I tried to dismount and instantly died with 25% health.

The War Within feels bad.

Feels the same as every WOW game ever, which is fine.

Combat feels bad.

Feels the same as every WOW game ever, which is fine.

Mythic+ feels awful.

True, it feels terrible. The people, the dungeons, the experience is nothing what I was expecting, and it a mode I am happy to walk away from.

World Quests feel bad.

I actually note many cool aspects/additions to World Quests that I like. The weaver quests and the Hallowfall mass-world quest area is pretty fun in my opinion. Rewards are kind of weak, but itā€™s fun to run them.

Hero Talents feel bad

IDK, this is a can of worms to try and get after. Some are fine, some are good, some suck, some are OP. They just transferred the imbalance of ā€œspecā€ to an imbalance in HT. As arcane mage I run spellslinger, but I know itā€™s a loss from the preferred Sunfury, so itā€™s a bit of a drag from that point of view.

Delves are ok

Delves are the single greatest addition to WOW. This is where I play and what I want to play.

Blizzardā€™s Communication is non-existent

They set themselves up here, asking for feedback, but they donā€™t honestly want it or need it. Open betas, PTRs, etc. They should just disband these forums and make all comms totally one sided. They save themselves a lot of drama by rarely responding to the mass rants on here. Infinite communication would still not be enough, so I would prefer they went the other opposite and gave us zero. They shouldnā€™t even tell the community what has been changed, patched, nerfed, tweaked, or updated EVER.

I first noticed this during Legion, when I played on the PTR. Where ships and zeppelins didnā€™t work. I actually rolled a mage on the PTR to help people travel between continents. They did fix it at one point, but it was back when the expansion was released. After an unacceptable period of time, it was again fixed, and for several patches it kept coming back. I concluded that they have no QA system that would verify that hotfixes applied to live servers also made it into the working copy that coders were currently using. And still donā€™t, who needs QA when you can just ignore bugs that are too inconvenient to fix at the moment?

dude same Iā€™ve been playing 1-3 hours a day and thats large for me. When Iā€™m not playing Iā€™m thinking about playing. though I will say I agree with op about the world quests mod density it could be rather increase ib size or respawn time. other than that my favorite expansion since legion.

The hero classes are so unbalanced its laughable and theres tuning every week. Sometimes the tuning is meant to buff and insteads turn out to be a nerf (see fury warriors latest debacle) and the changing of the M+ due to mythic raiders I believe was a mistake. An 8 is worth gilded crests imo and ive been nailing KSH for quite some time now and pushing well past it. 9s being required to upgrade hero track items is a dumb overnight lol

The company needs in house beta testers who are forced to run both raid and M+/Delves as every class before release. I think TWW needed more time in the oven, it feels incomplete and that were playing and unfinished product since it was released in early access. Quests unable to be turned in for weeks, renown loot bugged, abilities not scaling with stats.

Other than that, ive enjoyed it. Just wish theyd pay more attention to tuning on other classes rather than shoving mage meta down our throats but the game does feel good and i enjoy engaging in world content for the first time, ill have 2500 soon in M+, and AOTC soon as well. Its pretty good salad

Yeah, I was up until 3 am last night doing epic battlegrounds on my hunter. Couldnā€™t tell you the last time I lost sleep because of WoW, probably MoP. I almost have a third character at cap, so Iā€™m even spending a lot of time on alts.

SL and DF definitely didnā€™t keep me this occupied. I just like the overall theme, venturing underground. Itā€™s actually something I had been asking to happen for a long time (though my idea included Tinkers as leading the charge).

Very critical of Blizzard BUT to seriously have opinions YOU need to stop using Chatgpt, yes we know because it reads like one. Secondly your chatgpt problems are legit BUT they are only 1/10 of the issues for most people. They are minor for most as the game as a whole is great! Get a better computer, thatā€™s most of your issues trust me. And challenge yourself to higher keys, thatā€™s the game now like it or not. You canā€™t dismiss the core part of a game. Thatā€™s it but again mileage will vary from player to casual to player.

He tanked twitter you think he can run a gaming company lol. Just another used car salesman, he didnā€™t start any of those companies or knew how to write one line if code. Heā€™s a twit with money that no one on Twitter wants to listen to much less gamers.

Everything that people say is subject. I argue with a couple of customers asking what is the best. I reply that there is no such thing " what is the best ". The best only comes from within and no where else.

What you think is the best, other people will say itā€™s trash.

What l say is that I feel War Within is fantastic but itā€™s missing something. Like a small pinch of something else to work on. It has everything dragonflight has plus delves, but I dunno? I feel like itā€™s missing something to pull it together.

This is my crazy opinionā€¦ but if we had garrisons this expansion, it would had been the best expansion ever right out of the gates. Easily.

That is a good point.

Well in terms of class/specs the fact that we see them getting tuning passes every week with a large % increase with confirmation that a rework is scheduled for 0.5.

Its pretty clear the people claiming it stunk were 100% right.

They fired a ton of their QA people over the years, as has been mentioned from internal reports multiple times. And, they also repeatedly push untested and unverified builds that are done last minute, or are entirely different forks of builds that werenā€™t tested on the PTR, just assuming that they will work just fine, since the builds they are built from or on top of seemed to function just fine.

Yeah, no. If they had any actual coding experience, theyā€™d know that changing anything requires a litany of consistence checks and bug tests. A single line of code can and will break multiple things. Bug fixing is the single most time consuming and annoying part of making code.

As a casual player Iā€™m not sure how much my opinion mattersā€¦ yet for what itā€™s worth I agree.

The War Within has a huge number of problems with playablity its not even funny. I wouldnā€™t stoop so low as to rag on other expansions [Shadowlands and Legion were my absolute favorites aside from Zereth Mortis (the only Zone I still havenā€™t fully finished), and it pains me that they are so hated.], but this take has excellent points.
As a casual/story and sidequest centered player I donā€™t always or often encounter issues that my less-casual comrades do. Normally Iā€™m lucky enough not to have the stress or pressure of Mythic+, PVP, and related content and thats enough to keep the game worth playing for me. TWW, however, feels like its forced the game into a box of stressful encounters and confusing gameplay on top of the miriad of glitches and bugs no one seems to have time, energy, or clearance to handle (I blame Blizzardā€™s layoffs and unrealistic expectations of their retained employees).
The bugs described with firing spells is absolutely an issue I encounter with my Evoker regularly - with good internet and a custom built PC with all the bells and whistles. Itā€™s gotten me killed multiple times.
I also encounter lags and latency alongside crashes (even when out by myself), missing content (not always fixed with a refresh), and frozen assets. Reporting is a hassle nowadays so I donā€™t see any fixes incoming unless someone really cares on Blizzardā€™s side (which doesnā€™t seem like theyā€™re allowed to?).

The difficulty too feels WILDLY unbalanced, and Iā€™m not just talking extraneous content like Mythic+ (something I wonā€™t even consider this expansion given how many terrible reports it has on top of an already difficult feeling game). Iā€™ve had to stop playing multiple times simply due to feeling overwhelmed and stretched just trying to get through zones and enemies for the story Iā€™m after. And still, once I hit 80ā€¦ it didnā€™t get any easier.
I feel exactly how I felt when my Demon Hunter was nerfed in Battle for Azeroth (started out kicking butt and then the overhaul made me squishy - was jarring, though probably a good thing that got better as I leveled), except it is all the time. Only yesterday did I finally complete a tier 2 Delve without dying and feeling like it was way above my gear level, where previously my attempts at over Gear Level 550 for tier 2 Delves I always died at least once and struggled to get through it as if Iā€™d selected something rated way above the suggested 535+ gl. I expected that the earlier content like on the surface would be easier with time and the Content all the way down in Azj-Kahet would remain more challenging, but the surface, ironically, felt equally challenging still at maximum level when I tried it last.

I AM enjoying taking my time in Dungeons with the Follower Dungeon option, despite those being glitchy, a bit broken, and laggy as well, because at least I know Iā€™m not going to get booted without explanation (happens at least once in every expansion, and, in Dragonflight I still donā€™t know what I did wrong - TALK to people, guys!!) or feel overly rushed by a heavy-pull tank when Iā€™m there for the content more than the rush or stabby stabby.
Iā€™m nervous to try the raid in all honesty, but at least I finally made it there.

Iā€™m hopeful that with the intention to grow the World Soul story weā€™ll get fixes along the way, however Iā€™m nervous that the development will rather be focused on what they think is interesting rather than what has previously made Warcraft an enjoyable experience to come back to.

I love the war Within, I think itā€™s one of the best expansions that warcraft has ever put out and I also think in general itā€™s just one of the most enjoyable games Iā€™ve played in a long time. That being said, I do agree that most of the hero talents feel subpar and half finished. I also think that delves are a good start but they need to have something that makes them more Interactive. Like having an Adventurerā€™s Hall where you recruit followers and you can fill out your own follower dungeon group to do delves AND HEROIC DUNGEONS. Then allow players to solo delves up to tier 5 and farm their own open world veteran gear or fill out their vault with a private NPC party, but if you want to do delves on a higher tier or do M+ and get Champion gear you need to solo it on your own or make a group with other real players. World quests also are very uninspiring and often bottlenecked. They arenā€™t fast enough to prevent becoming irritating but arenā€™t engaging enough to be enjoyable. They are just mildly annoying background noise.

I would say that a constructive way to phrase this would be, ā€œwhen a lot of paying customers have similar complaints about a companyā€™s productā€¦ā€ Itā€™s not up to customers to come up with a working solution. Their only option is to stay until they get fed up, stop using the product, and tell a dozen of their closest friends not to use anything that company makes, because itā€™s trash and they donā€™t fix it.

Itā€™s actually a responsibility of companies to keep their customers satisfied with their products and coming back to continue paying. If thereā€™s a problem, they need to figure out what the source of that problem is and come up with a satisfactory solution. If the companyā€™s response is that the only problem is their customer base; or that they donā€™t need those customers; or that they should create products that will piss off their customers, because customers donā€™t know what they wantā€¦ Thatā€™s a big problem.

Follower dungeons are great. Followers donā€™t mind waiting out glitches. Lag seems to be far better than in normal dungeons, where there may be a 1-2 minute period at the start of the game where you spend more time frozen more than able to play.

I love how so many people rush to defend blizzard when they fail time and time again. Like a woman who get abused but then protects her abuser. This expansion is filled with bugs/issues with no class balancing PVE/PVP. " The Maintenance Within" please continue to defend blizzard its comical.
