Someone want to explain this RNG thing to me again?

I’m wondering if it’s a DK thing, since yeah, weapons were raining on mine the past week, where my paladin finally JUST got my upgrade.

The RNG is bad. Especially when weapons are scarce. I got my first upgrade on my druid since she hit 120… and it was a 370 agi polearm. :expressionless:

I don’t have a problem with RNG. I have a problem when RNG is part of every single little thing we do. It never used to be like that till the last couple of expansions.

Why would I come back for this xpac at all. I am already established in a much better game now. I gave them three xpacs to get this game back to where it was. Well lol no more from me. Only way would be a total change of their staff.

you can get a 340 weapon by opening supply drops, which award 50 conquest. open ten and you can get a weapon. Sounds like you just missed out on the knowledge.

That’s handy, and if you bother completing all bars you can get to the 370 weapon after some time. Free weapons and free gear at iLVL 370.

But that takes time, 500 conquest per bar so something like 100 boxes or a ton of PVP, unless you started early it is not really a good catch up, but it is there for those who are desperate.

You should just have used the “it boggles the mind” mantra. It boggles the mind because YOU are unwilling to look at the game in front of you and formulate a strategy.

Take four arbitrary stats in order of priority: A, B, C, D.

You get an item with stats C and D.
Another item in the same slot, same ilevel, with stats A and B is now an upgrade.
Voila, you have just earned an upgrade within the same ilevel tier.
Low and behold, incremental progression.

Just pay attention to the game. It is vomiting weapon options at you. They’re not all going to be upgrades; it’s not possible for you to get a dozen weapons and all of them be upgrades. That’s how the game is now.

What on earth are you talking about?

I was talking about how I can’t get my head around DK Frost spec.

According to this entire thread, you can’t get your head around basic stat priorities and are ranting on the internet about RNG.

No, I was specifically responding to someone who was talking about Frost spec for a DK amongst a thread talking about how crap the RNG is and how it gives items we either do not need, do not want or are not upgrades.

I had a 340 when I hit 120. Which has nothing to do with what I posted.

Ok here is my take on R.N.G.

1: It involves the dropping of gear usually the same piece over and over ,with wrong stats and ilvl .

2: I do believe because it infuriates so many people RNG is actually an acronym for Rage Now Guys.

Not positive if any of this is accurate but I’m sticking with this for now

the impression i got from reading your post made it sound like you had some blue/green tier weapon for 3 months after hitting 120. w/e.

RNG has creeped into everything. I’m convinced that the “loot spec” button does nothing. It’s just there to give you something to press when you get frustrated.

Ever since titanforging happened, we stopped having best items for given slots. For most slots, what we want is just a huge item with lots of numbers on it. Sure, we can tune when we have similarly proportioned choices, it’s particularly easy to do this with rings as they don’t have main stat.

A weapon is a big clump of damage, main stat, stamina, and yeah, some secondaries. The differing value of secondaries will rarely offset losses in the other stats (especially for tanks who get value from both main stat and stamina).

Blizzard in their divine wisdom gave me only one weapon option in Mythic Uldir, so that’s what I use. I honestly couldn’t tell you what secondaries it has from memory – because I have never had to set aside time contemplating whether or not it was my best choice – but it’s a big old spear. And I can get the secondaries I need on other less critical pieces.
