I don’t see much of an issue with these changes. They seem decent enough.
Diabolic Ritual moving up to 1 min seems like the main issue for me. On top of that, there’s also the reduction on resource generation. Less resources means more uptime to get one Demonic Art out. Considering Nether Portal and Tyrant are so awful to manage, I’d gladly give up these two for more frequent rituals. Way more interesting and way more organic.
Moving on.
Doom was terrible, replacing it with brand is a good change.
Faster Shadow Bolts is nice but Demonbolts should pack a punch.
Soulbound Tyrant is a pretty bad talent. Two points for awful extra shard management, and it gets worse with Soul Strike and Nether Portal.
Stolen Power and Sacrificed Souls, instead of filling the niche of improving spellcasting, are simply generic buffs to the same spells we spam all the time. Shadow’s Bite seems worse than those two. If Stolen Power is being removed, it’s worth taking a look at these two as well.
I’m surprised HoG talents weren’t removed. Awfully boring and seemly add into the issue. 4 talent points to add damage through RNG? Umbral Blaze and Pact of the IM could use a rework.
If devs are reducing resources, it means less HoG casts, right? Wouldn’t be better to turn HoG instant to make up for less Demonic Cores? Straightforward buffs to spells seem better.
Vilefiend and Demonic Calling should be instant, or at least, DC should get a huge boost to its proc chance.
Maybe Soul Strike should be reverted into an active ability and get buffed? Might help with the excess of passives and lack of alternative spells.
I think Demonology deserves a new demon. Might help with variety. I’d go with a Shivarra.
One last thing. I need someone to shed some light on this. Demons have durations, not clear outputs (even tooltips add no info on this). Does that mean my demons are losing DPS everytime they have to move or change targets? If so, it just means demons are flawed versions of DoTs, easily wasting the effort put into summoning them.
If so, I’d suggest a general duration of 30 secs and alter demons to deal damage based on energy or amount of skills/atks performed, modified appropriately by stats.
