They’d be able to level. That was WoW’s appeal from the very beginning.
As for doing leveling dungeons… why? They’ve always been pointless wastes of time.

I could grab any of my beer chugging call of duty console buds, and zero chance they complete said dungeon without me talking them through the game.
Honestly? Yes. They are roll your face on the keyboard easy in terms of difficulty.
I know people in retail get all upset when someone says this but… in terms of challenge… classic does it muuuch better in regards to the skill floor for the game. Is it hard? No. Is it harder than retail? Absolutely it is…
The real issue is that when you hit end-game and want to even get into normal/heroic mode (god forbid mythic), and you realize you need to:
revamp your UI
download addons
actually learn how to play your class
actually learn how to optimize your character
actually learn how to move your character
learn the fights
optimize for each fight
possibly even download WA’s to aid your team defeat the fights…
At that point… you’re talking about a WoW enthusiast… not an average gamer.
I think “hard” and"easy" aren’t applicable terms. It’s more like “frustrating” vs. “streamlined”. Nothing in this game is hard, besides potentially PvP.
The only thing people seem to mistake for “hard” would be memorizing choreography. I wouldn’t really call that hard, it’s just like memorizing anything. Take some time and effort and there you go.
Some things take longer to memorize than others I suppose. But it’s not a matter of difficulty.
I (as in me! me! me!) would say base game open world questing is too easy and they need to add difficulty (and xp gain) modes, but I do not find it boring because I read the quests and get into the ‘little’ stories. I criticize Draenor from here to there and back again but the Arakkoa storyline was amazing.
As for end game instance content being too hard, well, there are levels of difficulty so folks can pick and choose.
But I do think the end game instance content is too complicated, given you need to read up on the fights to understand what is going on and, personally, even just watching them on youtube often leaves me scratching my head.
But I would still like to see the lowest difficulty for both dungeons and raids turned into a strict story mode (with low level rewards, of course) where the only mechanics are personal ones like ‘don’t stand in bad stuff’, ‘stay away from the edge’, ‘don’t stand directly in front of the boss’, ‘get behind the pillar during this attack’, ect.
Define average gamer.
I think wow end game is easier than GW2 end game for comparison sake.
Endgame is way too hard.
The hardest part of wow is dealing with some types of people that play it. Many folks are nice and get along BUTTTT then the dark side of gaming has the lurkers. The ones that rage over one mistake and hungrily antagonize anyone in their path. LOL
I definitely don’t think WoW caters to the general population of gamers, and I used to think it was much better for getting new gamers into gaming than it is now.
FF14 has easier rotations. WoW has spell priorities while FF14 has literal rotations where you hit the same buttons in the same order over and over again.
I think WoW is easy as long as you’re by yourself, but as soon as you start interacting with others difficulty jumps tenfold. A lot of WoW players are power players nowadays, and it seems like the group content design tries to match that level, rather than cater to be more accessible. New player sees all that and it’s scary.
I think Wrath did the best job at inviting new players into the game. Entry raids were simple enough to be pugged by average players. Some arena gear was available even if you lost all your games for the week. It sort of let you feel the taste of it, and then you got hooked on better rewards and wanted to try more.
In my own humble opinon.
You just need common sense to play wow.
I don’t think it is too difficult for the average gamer. There are obviously various difficulties depending on content type…and difficulty. If you’re running current content, I wouldn’t say it is too easy either.
There is definitely learning involved…and those who are willing to take the time to do that will not have any trouble. I have a friend who has no interest in learning how to play his character, on the other hand. He struggles with most content…his dps forever low. A unique situation.
I dont think its too hard. Reason why i quit is because i simply dont have a lot of time to invest. If content was playable at my own pace with people still running old content from older expacs at that level i would play. Kind of like how ff14 is.
But how wow is not so much. I just get burnt out trying to keep up and do a lot of things at once both in game and irl. Not to mention i have my first child on the way
Wow is as easy or complicated as you want to make it.
spend 10 min hitting a target dummy reading the rotation and you’ll be good to go.
WoW is the easiest game I’ve ever played lmaoooo ![]()
Don’t look at my profile
The combat and mechanics are simple.
Sometimes I find the gearing process to be very convoluted and confusing.
Even after playing the game for so long I have to ask a friend how a borrowed power works or how to upgrade a legendary etc etc
At what level? The high end? An AVERAGE gamer shouldn’t be in the high end of play (M+20+, M Raiding) but assuming they were there for some reason then yes Wow is too hard for the average player. Average content I would say is fine.
TOO complicated
I think it’s more complicated than it needs to be for average play. Even if you say “Kaurmine all you have to do is this, this, and this” well how long did it take you to figure that out? Did YOU figure that out or did you read a guide? Is it more learning than should be necessary for AVERAGE play? For above average play I would again say wow is fine, for above average players I would say wow is easy.
