It’s because Elves are the best. Give VEs druids and you will see a lot more.

Earthen should have been druids. Imagine: Stone Bear Form; Stone Cats… oh the missed glory.
There’s already stone bears, nobody uses them.

The lore
Majority of druid lore is shoe-horned into Night Elf related content. Hardly up for debate.
- Heck even in the Emerald Dream, I felt we had more night-elf content & themes than we did of the Titans or Green Dragons.
The most pressing matter against the Nelf-focussed tide in druidism was the concept of wild gods & loa holding their own realms, to which their devoted or followers could find a place of achieving in the afterlife … 
However Shadowlands ruined that.
Now the loa are just basic wild gods with more of an ego to have worshipers, nothing more …
The fix?
Honestly I think they should retcon a small semblance of Shadowlands, like announcing if you die there - You become reincarnated into the physical world as a new being (depending on the actions of your life) and no memory.
However for wild gods & loa, if they die in the Shadowlands – Announce they’re reincarnated as a mortal WITH memory, but without their godly powers … Yet having a spark remain to potentially restore it with enough efforts.
- That way you’d at least give a semblance of closure to Arthas, Garrosh, Rezan and Ursoc who perished there. Sure it wouldn’t be “ideal” – but it’d still be FAR better than what we got.
Additionally, have an announcement of the wild gods & loa who have enough followers or gain enough power have the strength to forge their own afterlife realms (akin to Bwonsamdi or like Quetz’lun).
With such – You’d be able to restore a few significantly large semblances of lore along with paving the way to widen greater spectrums of future story telling. 
In the beginning, if you wanted to play a Druid, your choices were Tauren or Night Elf until Cataclysm. My Legacy Druid is a Night Elf since I didn’t like horns on my shapeshift forms and couldn’t stand the Tauren movement.
Honestly, I would main Tauren Druid if I could have shadowmeld.
I kinda think “Feral” should be wolf form and “Guardian” should be hybrid… like super-buff Worgen form. Then again, forms that are more “wickerwork” or “stitched together” similar to the KT forms would also work for Worgen Druids, given that our roots go back to the “Harvest Witches”. Yes, I would rather have the KT Moonkin form than the modern Moonkin.
Shadowmeld is just that much better than other Druid racials.
Especially in PvP.
Kind of a shame, if you want to play this game for flavor, you’re probably gimping yourself in some way lol.

Lets be real. I think its the best racial in the game. Accidentally pull? Shadowmeld. Defending a base? shadowmeld. Fighting over a node and some wanker pulls mobs onto you? shadowmeld. Something casting on you? shadowmeld. Group wiping? shadowmeld. Someone afk for too long and you want revenge, pull mobs to them and shadowmeld.
shadowmeld. its the quicker mood picker upper.

agreed. Two main reasons to play Worgen druid:
The lore is cool. (but the game seems to forget all about it. There’s nothing “Harvest Witch” about worgen druids.
I get to cast spells without looking at dumb Worgen casting animations (instead getting to look at goofy Moonkin casting)
I think the problem is people just don’t want to be worgen period, they’re a pretty unpopular race (same for fat human). If horde had belf druids you’d have 95% congregate on them too.

Mate, most of the druids are nelves because of the racials. Has nothing to do with aesthetics.

I would like a race on Horde where we could see our boot mogs our only options are trolls and cows just two different versions of cow and troll.
Pandaren druids and dracthyr druids can be both factions and be more reasonable options.
doesnt help that all the new customizations druids got in df are very heavy on night elf, including the customizable boomie which is straight up a night elf regardless of which race uses it
