I got a lobby with a DK and Frost Mage, and the DK just focused me the entire time, and all the Silences and CC were saved for me.
I could escape for a few seconds to cast UA and it would be immediately silenced or CC’ed. which allowed the healer to spam dispel my DoTs on cooldown, which then Shard starved me.
It was well played on their part, but honestly, but I’m not sure how it can be mitigated. It felt very oppressive and unfun to play affliction against opponents who weren’t potatoes. I believe they were glads.
I had no problem surviving for several minutes, and still was top damage (barely), but I couldn’t really get out any Malefic Raptures, because as soon as I tried to cast anything I was immediately silenced, or strangled, or grasped, or pulled, etc.
I did manage to win 1 game out of the 6 but I had to work my butt off to get it.
Other classes can choose to take precog to help. Affliction HAS to take precog. HAS to track interrupt’s with an add on. HAS to track DR’s with an add on.
The good news is soul rot is now the correct school from a role playing view of things so…yay?
Seriously though, if you’re avg to bad at juking if you persist with afflock in PvP you will get really good at it
Edit I should add. Netherward reflects most of dk’s cc options if not all? Grip and stun definitely get reflected. I just assumed silence does as well.
? rampant afflictions and jinx… what’s the third? impish into melee cleave?
sounds like more than enough time to get casts off if you know how to juke; coil; fear; etc. dont really think u need ward.
obviously playing into a healer that is dispelling UA and a mage that is dispelling curses while having a dk with the most melee micro cc in the game is bad for aff, most classes have bad matchups… but also you probably shouldn’t play jinx into mage/healer that are clearly prioritizing that; just gives more value to their strat.
out of 6 casters 5 of them have mandatory precog; along with every healer in the game.
you don’t have to do this, its just easier. but also everyone that casts does this.

i would say that casting drain soul is a really good way to bait kicks. also having good soul swaps is really important… if you can survive that long you should have no problem gaining momentum.
idk if ele needs it, that’s why i left it out. boomy NEEDS it. arcane NEEDS it and destro NEEDS it. its not helpful, juking kicks w precog wins games when u have spells like fear sheep and cyclone.
fw runs it but thats just cause there is no other embellishment that really matters for healers.
if you’re never getting casts as OP said, your nightfall procs are useless anyway. drain soul is a good thing to juke because when u cast fear its a mindgame; they hold kick, they dont hold kick, u juke yourself into oblivion or get kicked. whereas drain soul, youre just getting free damage so they almost always kick the second they notice it.
jinx needs to be reworked. If the enemy is in some way immune to the curse you dont apply the dots and you waste a soul shard.
Its so hard to survive with mindless melee attacks with 100% uptime and i have to worry about re dotting everyone after wasting a shard
