Solo Shuffle Leavers

Blizzard needs to fix something about people leaving because this penalty means nothing to them cowards. We should still get rating once someone leaves.

Had 2 games just now and soon as we were about to be at the last game someone (usual the person that has lost the most) just bails! Time wasted and no rating increase so i’m still sitting at 0.

It is just frustrating to do all that fighting for nothing, them bums could at least leave in the first round to save everyone else some time but they always run near the end.

I think a huge part of the leave problem isn’t actually people leaving to save rating or griefing other players.

It’s simply that SoloQ can be fun if it’s fairly balanced or an absolutely horrible and frustrating experience if it isn’t and when people see in the opening rounds that it isn’t balanced they leave.

If the Aff Warlock stands on the tomb and does 15k DPS but can’t be punished or stopped or countered in any way, the guy who’s getting farmed or the healer who has to try and deal with that is just leaving because it isn’t fun.

When the DH uses all their mobility to cross the map after the gates open because they like seeing their pretty wings instead of a mount but then can have 100% uptime on their target while doing 10k single target DPS all the non-DH players who have to put up with that are just leaving because it isn’t fun.

There are many egregious examples in pre-patch of specs that are so oppressive that they make everyone elses time in SoloQ unenjoyable and that is causing people to leave.

At least in normal Arena you can vs a toxic comp and want to uninstall the game for a few minutes because you can’t play your class but once the game is over you can re-queue and hopefully get into a different matchup. In SoloQ you’re stuck with the same torturous comp for 5 more rounds. I just left a game in R1 because I didn’t want to play around a duelist geared Aff lock and a 55k HP DH for 25 minutes. Healing that sort of match just is not fun.

Well said. There’s undoubtedly a few toxic trolls griefing, but most of the leaves are frustration or just outright pointlessly stupid matchups.

My only leave so far has been a tank matchup (go figure): 2x guardian, DH, DK, Rogue. What a blast that would have been dying in the first 20 sec with defensives up, and going 0-6. I left after the 2nd round. Why bother when there’s 0 chance (aside from people literally dc’ing) that I win that. I barely had time to get my fire ele out.

Lo que no me gusta en si es perder oportunidades de sumarle progreso a la barra de la montura sañosa en especial cuando se van en la quinta ronda, aunque igual el sistema tiene fallos en ocasiones aunque tenga un buen/exelente desempeño me da 3 puntos de conquista, me puede bajar el índice del ranking y no consigo mi 2% para la Silla sañosa y en otras ocasiones el juego me expulsa apenas ingreso a la partida como si hubiera renunciado.

The problem is the horrendous game balance and tanks. If you are a weaker class facing a guardian druid that one shots you in 4 seconds or demon hunter, locks, etc and you lose every single match why not just leave and take the 6 loss penalty when you know you will lose all 6 anyway here? I think that is why it happens. Should they stay for a for sure 6 loss over 6 minutes or just leave and do something else. Balance your game and remove tanks from solo shuffle

Yeah, so either leaving needs to be harsher than just staying for all 6 losses and/or distribute some gains (and losses) to the other player just so the one player getting punched down on can’t deny everybody else their points.

I said this in another thread the solution is pretty simple.

Display a pop up warning like LoL “Are you sure you wish to leave? Your team needs you!”

If they confirm then the match concludes instantly and lose a significant chunk of rating which is then split and divided among the other 5 players.

Have a penalty volcano that goes down 1 tier weekly with no ditching start with

1 hour first
12 hours 2nd
3 days 3rd
1 week 4th+

AFKing/Alt F4ing will instantly conclude match with same results. Sounds harsh but DC must also force same consequence to prevent people from circumventing the system by trolling and alt f4 then relog alt f4 and relog.

Maybe also need a report system where 5x reports trigger an automated punishment if people run out to middle to suicide and screw everyone instead of just quitting/afking.

That ones iffy though if people wanna mess with you and abuse report function. Maybe have a reverse suspension on reporters if 5x do it and its found that your just being a bully/abusing system. That would require gms and manpower I doubt blizz has though and cares to assign people too.

Perhaps its time for a community council like the old LoL system to vote punish/mercy on reported gameplay sabotage

If blizz had actually made it to where the players in shuffle were all the same rating and they fixed few of the classes atm absolutely DOMINATING in pvp because of their overscaled stats and abilities, solo would actually be worth playing. If i’m a unrated player, is should NOT encounter anyone who isn’t unrated.

Maybe less people would be frustrated if they stopped queueing into RSS with like ~50k HP? If you do that, you’re asking to get run over. I see this happen in way too many games. RSS is still rated content. You shouldn’t be queueing RSS in quest greens - and if you do, you shouldn’t expect to win. Dipping out 4-5 rounds deep because losing rating doesn’t matter to you on your under-geared alt is just being toxic to others (like me) who are actually trying.

Every RSS I’m doing good in, the other Healer inevitably leaves; of course, if I’m losing, everyone’s having a blast and quite happy to collect rating, Honor, and Conquest off my back (my W/L ratio is a disaster because all it really shows is my L’s). Honestly, this reflects very poorly on the PVP community. Is this what we’ve become? Where’s the bloody integrity? Where’s the sportsmanship? Can’t lose in a video game or your fragile ego will be shattered? Go PVE then. Fight boars and win 100% of the time.

My suggestion: at this point, I’d say get rid of RSS. Keep SS as a non-rated option - and when people ask, “But why did you get rid of RSS?” The devs can point their finger at the PVP community. :point_left:

Edit: was thinking about the problem of leavers. RSS was a bad idea. What we really needed is more akin to a Solo queue Rated Skirmish.

At the end of the day no matter what the reason, there needs to be a harsh enough penalty to make players avoid leaving. Losing rating is simply not enough as some players will still do it just to farm lower brackets. If you are someone that force quits every match you play at an 80-90%+ rate you should get threatened with a ban from the mode. It’s how every other game does it.

You could get some conquest reward bonus for staying through a match. Making it in favor for players to play a whole game. Some of the matches are quite long and getting nothing

I feel like most leavers are either not having fun because they are not meant to be at that MMR or they are bg players trying it out and leaving like its a BG and taking a deserter then logging onto other alts.

They should replace the leaver with a bot lol

The bigger problem with shuffle is that its melee heavy and they need to stop it. Needs to be healer ranged and melee on a team everytime, except for the tank ques, which has anamosity of its own. I should have left the last match which was nothing but warriors and dks just up my a$$ every match. I honestly dont blame people for leaving in those situations. Getting melee trained is no fun and blizzard shouldnt be allowing it in shuffles.

I will continue leaving at round 6 until they buff holy paladins. over 150 solo shuffles and i have faced maybe 3 holy paladins…i wonder why.

Things like this is why wow is on the struggle bus. Been a sub since original beta, took a break for last year but kept sub active, come back solo arena looks fun, then the constant leaving. If you have 50k health then maybe you shouldn’t que, and if you do take your lumps. On the ones with zero healers melee is trucking me but meh part of the game. And yes Im complaining today because this is the 4rth arena in a row where someone left after 5 games

Its getting to be a waste of time. Cannot believe blizzard hasn’t fixed this… PUNISH the scum leavers. Wait till you get 1800+ people leave all the time at 5/6 rounds if they are not winning. They should call it Grief Shuffle, or Leavers Shuffle.

This is exactly what it should have been. A rated 3’s skirmish single match; not a shuffle.

You won’t get leavers because it’s 1 match and the rest of the issues with shuffle would be gone completely.
