SOLO PLAYER PENALTY -- Avg Gear Score Capped @ iLvl 198

In BfA solo PvE players were capped at ‘x’ as well for the most.

There was titanforging for those I guess who thought that was a useful use of their time though to chase after. But other than that PvE solo players were always capped at a lower level than group players. I am surprised you are complaining about this tbh.

They never stop.

NWN peak player base in the last 30 days - 2900 players. They’re probably doing it right.

I’ve been here since the beginning of wow. I certainly don’t want the company to go belly-up and want to see great fully formed expansions. It’s common sense that they have to cater to all kinds of people and if people quit, bad things can happen. Not everyone wants to sit and play a computer game for 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 hours a day. Been there done that, years ago, till it became obvious it was not life friendly. I started playing when I had a back injury which eventually got better. But I always was busy with my life and work.

When I realized that maintaining multiple alts would be out of the question in SL, due to the insane grind for renown and equipment, I decided to focus on only one. It’s more boring for sure, but I’ve actually been able to gear up faster now, and renown on one character takes up far less time.

But the above quote is one major reason I unsubbed. My one character is not maxed yet on honor gear but will be soon. And I’ve only got one item of conquest gear so far. But I’m going to be locked at a max iLevel gain, even if I only see that cap further down the road.

It’s really sad when skipping from a max honor PvP item to the only conquest PvP item…just a few ilevels between, hah. It’s actually a little insulting. But if Blizzard doesn’t want me as a subscriber, that’s fine with me.

Group play isn’t a requirement of most MMORPG’s, in fact some have no or very little actual group play. MMORPG’s are just massive multi player games.

I’m already playing too many hours as it is.

Right. Massively multiplayer online. This means they are online in the same, shared world, at the same time. They can group, either in a committed way like guilds, dedicated raid groups, arena and rated bg groups, or they can team up on the fly, like when a rare appears or when killing mobs for quests. But the game is a MMO, not a Co-op.

There are people who hate being forced to group in a dedicated way, and a lot of them do it anyway for the loot gains that are possible. Then they come to the forums and insist this is normal, everyone should do it if they have to do it. It’s like this is a “difficulty level”—finding a dedicated group, playing according to a schedule like a work schedule, etc.

It’s fairly weird. Blizzard created those flaming loops and, yes, tells us we must jump through them or we’ll be playing only part of the game. But it’s weird that those loops are endgame, and the point of them is to keep people subbing at endgame—but being told we must jump through flaming loops of _____ is not much incentive for a lot of players.

I hope you don’t have children

Then it is what it is. The game is about progression. I don’t consider the time I put in to be a terrible amount but I can still progress ilvl wise.

Maybe some people have an unrealistic idea of their “leet” “skill.” PVP is less programmed than PVE. If gear became cosmetic in PVP “skill” and class balance would become more evident. They could turn off armor and players wouldn’t even know–they would see glaring spec problems.

I should be asleep, but interesting talk happens early morning.

I can buy runs for 1M to 2M from raiders for Mythic and get geared without effort. Its not hard. They might even give me a discount for the frequency with which I have bought said runs. I did not spend more than a total of 6hrs in the total patch in that raid content.

I am saying this as where things are headed. I really could care less about doing grouped content. Even pvp people can carry you in RBGs late nights to 2400.

Just so you know, casual doesnt mean poor.
@Jalen, just clicked on your message to reply, but not actually replying to you per say. So not targeted at you but replying to the thread.

They tried that in Legion and it was a travesty. Problem being that whatever template was there, you were locked into without having any ability to change it. Players have already been putting in feedback for changes that have been apparent to put players in line for more skillbased games instead of the 1 shot and gimmicks that we’ve seen.

Gotcha

Placebo Armor.

Not sure what you mean

Yes, you can upgrade it to 198. That’s where it ends. I’ve never understood people that think they should get mythic raid gear without ever mythic raiding.

This whole rant just makes no sense lmao

I guess it’s worth thinking about.

Probably not without an explanation. If you don’t want to share then that’s fine.

Or… you can actually explain what you mean.
